Sad to inform, Australia's Crocodile Hunter passed away just a while ago after a freak accident when filming a marine documentary. Current reports indicate a stingray barb through the chest resulted in his death. The guy was a pretty good guy in real life. He may have been over the top in his work but he made very interesting documentaries. It is a big loss for his family with 2 young kids and his wife. This is not a crikey moment - bad karma to those who think that.
I was just about to post this, that is really sad I am at a lost for words. I really liked him and thought he was a really good guy.
This just tells you, do NOT take life for granted. You are not promised tomorrow so live life to the fullest as if it were your last day.
Confirmed: Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin dead Well, Steve Irwin created quite a legacy and will not be forgotten in a hurry. A life lived well.
My wife and I used to cringe when he and his wife, pregnant, would do the stuff they did. We knew anyone could go anytime, but with two babies, we used to watch and worry with what they did in particular. Rest in peace Steve, we hope your family can endure this sad loss.
Just saw the news on Drudge. Here's a link: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,20349888-2,00.html Sad news, my wife and I watched him on the animal channel. I always figured it would be one of the snakes that got him. At least he went doing what he loved best. RIP Steve.
Damn. I got quite a kick out of this guy over the years. I watched him many times on tv talk shows and he struck me as a very nice person. And only 44. What a shame.
That sucks. Despite the fact that he seemed to invite death with everything he did, you always got the impression the guy was indestructible. The worst thing about it is that according the Daily Telegraph his wife doesn't know about it yet. She's trekking in Tasmania, so right about now she's probably getting ready to have her dinner. I'm hoping this is some elaborate hoax.
I don't know man CNN has an article up. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/09/04/australia.irwin/index.html They said they attended a reef fatality monday morning, so I am only hoping they got it wrong and it is not Steve even though whoever died, I am equally sadden for.
Yeah. I just turned on CNN and both they and Sky News are reporting it. Well, if there's one thing you can say for the guy it's that he made the most of those 44 years. If I can live even a fraction of the way he has in my time, I'd be happy.
I'm the same. I'm actually shocked at how upset I am by this. I never even watched the guy on TV, and I've been making fun of him for years. I just called my sister to tell her about it. She's a huge fan, and she's so upset now that she didn't even berate me for waking her up at 6:30am. The guy was an icon.
"It is believed his American-born wife Terri is trekking on Cradle Mountain in Tasmania and is yet to be told of her husband's death." Now that is sad, I fell bad for her.
A true tragedy. I have enjoyed countless hours watching Steve and his family in their TV adventures in the wild. May God bless and comfort his survivors.
I...I...I.. can't believe, crikey i was just watching the bloak. loved animals so much, they got the best of him
