There is a goarticles page that ranks #1 for a keyword that I am targeting. If you were determined to take that spot which would you use: Another goarticles page? Ezine articles page? an internal page on your own webdomain? maybe a Squidoo lens? thanks
An internal page. Optimize for that page. Get links from high pr related pages and book mark it. It is easy to outrank pages from article sites.
Also do a search on yahoo with link:theurlofthearticle to find the links to that article. Try to build the same links.
This go article page seems funny. This article is six months old has a total of 23 backlinks and the article PR page itself is a PR 6 !! Im lost here.... PR6 with 23 crappy backlinks from low PR directories and blog rolls?? This makes no sense.
i have seen a few PR5 article pages but a PR6 individual article on goarticles means the article owner did a lot of promotion for that article. hard to say without seeing the article itself. you can submit to goartciles, or submit to ezine. or you can submit one article to EZA or GA and submit few more on other article directories linking to your main article. then do some additional link building for that article
I'm guessing GoArticles has amazing internal linking structure and is passing on page rank from tags or something similar, which is why it has such high page rank.
problem now is that since there is a goarticles in the #1 spot and ezinearticles in the #4 spot.... what can you use to rank above them? From what I understand if you use either one of those again google frowns on that and will not rank you.
