Hi. I came across this directory: http://www.diralicious.com/ And here's another: http://www.internetintl.com/ They both have more than 6000 active links...BUT are a PR0. When you see something like this, is it worth my time to add my websites? Thanks From the snow capital of the world...Ohio.
Thanks. But as a novice, how do I find out if they are penalized directories? Right now, I have no way of knowing.
one of the biggest clues is when a site does not frank for their domain name diralicious is nowhere to be seen in the first 5 pages of Google
OK. Would you say that most directories with thousands of links that are PR 0...I should just stay away from?
One of them has: Active Links: 6294 Pending Links: 1565 The other has: Active Links: 7765 Pending Links: 56533 It's obvious the second directory has been abandoned, or was setup just to sucker people into submitting so they can harvest email addresses. You are wasting time submitting to it. And the first directory is likely also dead...1565 pending links on a directory that requires reciprocal or payment.
The second domain seems to have been around for a while...with over 56000 pending links you can tell that the owner hardly ever checks the admin panel
He or she may only approve paid submissions. A couple of years back, I submitted a free link to a directory, my link didn’t get approve, and it did when I added a paid link. Thanks Brian
I would suggest you to try seomoz.org/linkscape to know about the real power of any directory or site. Just focus on your SERP's by getting authoritative backlinks from powerful directories. Buy backlinks not PR. Good luck.
