Hello. Im a newbie here and been slowly educating myself with SEO. I kinda understand the importance of keyword. I typed "Bad Breath Cure" and found that the first spot is a PR3 site, and second spot is a PR5. What is the fella doing wrong with his PR5 site? Also, at 4th spot is a PR1 site, where as below him are PR2,4,3 sites. What is he doing right? Appreciate a bit of enlightenment. Tx.
Probably the PR5 site is not targeting that keyword like having the keyword in the URL or tittle tag and has few backlinks to it. PR in search engines is not a major factor to get high search rankings, it is a factor though but not very important. the PR 1 site is probably more SEO optimized for that keyword.
in terms of getting ranked for a keyword, PR has very little to do with it. most people chase PR or get excited about it witout knowing that PR is only a very small factor in ranking algorithm which make hardly any noticable difference in the ranking. you will see it always that a PR0 site is outranking a PR3 sites for a term. that tells you not to focus on PR and focus on relevant link building
From the way you gentleman explain the topic just tells me I still have a long way to go. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it.
What you have to understand is that PR is just a measure of the amount/weight of the links pointing to the website. The website ranking first may have less links to the website but these could be from websites relevant to bad breath. These links could also contain the anchor text in the website. The position 1 website could also be better optimised for the term.
