We already know that Wordpress has a membership function. What I need is something that expands that function and allows user to create profiles with a little more info, and be able to save or bookmark posts from the blog, within their profile. So for instance, user comes and logs in, and sees a post that they like and ca save it to their profile to quick access the next time they log in. Anyone know of a feature like this?
Hmm.. closest thing I can think of is the Register Plus Wordpress Plugin? It allows custom fields to the registration that the user can fill out which will appear on their profile.. I'm not able to write URLs on Digital Point yet (not enough posts).. so remove the spaces from this link: wordpress .org/ extend/ plugins/ register-plus/ It wont do the bookmarking thing that you're after I'm afraid.. I'm always looking for new plugins though so if I come across it, I'll remember to come back and post..
Yeah, I tried that one. Not really what I wanted, it just pretty much put a bunch of extra junk on the register page. Appreciate it though. Looks like I may have to dive into Wordpress MU and Buddypress to get the functions I need.
What you want, is really quite cool So I hope that someone creates it one day.. Maybe I should teach myself programming so I'm not always waiting for the plugin with "all the cool features"
I think I've found what you want.. (by accident) http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mingle/ The simplest way to turn your WordPress website into a Social Network. Mingle uses your standard WordPress website and standard WordPress theme to create profile pages, user friending, profile page posts, profile activities, social comments, email notifications (with privacy settings) and a full directory of members. Mingle can be used to start a new Social Networking website or can be used with the existing registered users on your Website. So go ahead and try it out--give your users a more social experience on your website!
I'm pretty sure that I can do that within my wishlist membership plugin where you as the admin can set up special permissions for users that will allow them to create such functions.
