I am wondering some of the best ways to market iPhone apps? If you have developed iPhone apps and gotten them in the top 25, 50, 100 and have any tips please let me know? Also, I am wondering if you have made any apps, what is the most copies you have sold and at what price? Any success/failure stories?
Hi Jordanb27, We've had success with paid and free apps on iPhone and Android. Free apps obviously generate more downloads because of the price point. but we've had success generating traffic to our paid iPhone apps with Adwords.

I am in process of developing my first 2 game apps and have been doing some research on marketing iPhone apps and your input is appreciated and it is good to hear from someone that has already done this. I am working on a home site where I can display my apps and promote them at DevelopedApplications.com - I specialize in SEO, so I plan to market the site and get it ranked organically for some keyphrases and hopefully get it featured on some review sites. Aside from that, I am not really sure what other avenues are best to promote them and get more people to the download page and to purchase the app.
You may want to start a more social media related campaign(along with SEO of coarse). Get yourself a twitter/facebook/youtube account for company and apps. You could get a good following very quickly by have giveaways on these social sites(require users to retweet/repost/ect) I'd definitely recommend some automation tools so you can get some momentum.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have created the major social accounts for it, I am kind of waiting to get followers and fans until at least my website is up which should be in the next couple days. Would you recommend having a lite or free version and a paid version of the same game? Do you think that this increase your overall sales by having a free lite version of the game, or do you think that this would lower the paying customers?
I am curious if anyone has had success selling their iphone app source code. we've developed an app and we're either looking to sell or license the code. But I can't really find any good resource for that.
