Amazon & Twitter

I've been an Amazon Affiliate for some months now but I have to admit - I haven't done a whole lot with it. I actually optimize client's websites for them (part-time) and work for a car manufacturer in the IT field.

Question here...(go easy on me - I'm such a novice in internet marketing) - is it ok if I get a link to a product from Amazon and make it into a tinyurl and then Tweet about a product? Basically, can I bypass putting the product on my website where my follower goes directly from Twitter to the product page on amazon?

Absolutely. In fact, Amazon has provided that feature on their site for you as an Associates to easily and quickly promote their products on Twitter. if you're already an Associate, just long on to Amazon and have a look at the top of any page for the Amazon Stripe.

It has lots of buttons including the 'Share on Twitter' button. Clicking on the button automatically shortens that page's URL and post the product description on Twitter for you (with your associate ID).

This way you don't even need to post anything on your website anymore or redirect your followers to your site.

    Good luck

I do that from time to time, but I try to be careful not to look as though I`m spamming Twitter with Amazon links.

You should make sure your tweets are providing value otherwise you will get hundreds of clicks but no conversion. Try and limit the number of affiliate links posted and more on engaging your followers. That way any link you posted subsequently will have more value and increased conversion.

    Good luck
