    Powerhoster is a Godaddy's reseller hence $1.99 is buying a non-domain product.

    About the cheapest registration price it depends on the domain extension. Right away there is an IN domains promotion running at Dynadot for $2.99 while Godaddy hottest deal is INFO domains for $0.87 and lower for bulk registration.

    What do you mean "a non-domain product " ?

    powerhoster.com is the reseller of WWD ( a sister company of godaddy), but they always set the cheapest prices their upstream allows. I got the same service godaddy provides, but cheaper prices. That is the reason I recommend powerhoster.

    The worse I have seen is in Poland They offer a domainname for 1Zlotty (less then 0,4US$). The next year is the price 239 doubled (239Zlotty) - actually 250 doubled when you add in that part of the utillitycost that is over normal as well
    So everything that seems to be not true, is normaly not true
