it is 90% a scam,... check the email headers,...

you can very well have the "from" header to
but when u hit reply, it will becomes something else... coz "reply-To" header is different,
(if it does it is a scam!; forward email to )

If you want then call up the PayPal or you can wait a couple of days and you can withdraw payment to your bank as the situation is improving.

first of all , even if you give the details they cant do anything (withdraw or mis-use is)..

You are only giving your account no , and not your netbanking passwords and all..

And if its from , then it cant be fake..

OK, so here is the full header of the mail I got :

Can anyone judge if it is real or fake ?

I am worried because its only me who has got this type of phone and mail, why not others ?

Edit : I have changed my real address just by typing "MY EMAIL ADDRESS:. Please, its for security reason.

    @cooolapts

Are you an ebay seller /buyer ? If so, check my post above (with that link etc), it is not a verified info, but just came when I searched in google.

Now it is more confusing ! I mean looking the header it looks like genuine !

Actually rates of wire transfer depends on the bank. At least that is the info I got after checking many bank sites. For SBI, they charge $20 for a wire transfer from USA to India - this is from my experience. I am not very sure who get that $20, may be sending bank or receiving bank ? Anyway it is irrespective of amount.

sigh... all of you are doing so many tests whereas a simple test would have helped. that email address is genuine. i sent a blank email to it and it did not bounce back. if the email address was forged, it would have bounced back immediately :)

    Not necessarily :)

Paypal can set a catch-all, they can set a 'blackhole', they can even set a mail rule to discard such email. Everything possible !

So it is still slightly confusing.

I accept your point that paypal can set a blackhole, what i was trying to state is that email is a part of paypal and not from some nigerian scams that forge email id's :)
