hi friends, I would like a book a domain in my niche market, so i would like ask you should I register a domain with a keyword or should I go with a name (xyz.com) and make it as a brand (xyz.com) of my website instead of using keyword?...can u please give me a suggestion regarding this confustion..... Thanks in Advance....
Well generally you will be able to receive more visitors (sales) faster if your domain is keyword rich. For example if I own a company called "John & Co." which has an online store selling ebooks, then I would make much more sales if the domain was something like "cheapebooks.com" or "ebookstore.com" than if the domain was "johnandco.com". So unless you are willing to buy both the name domain (xyz.com) and the keyword (this is what I usually do) then I would just go for the keyword domain. But, as you can get a domain for 7 dollars, I really urge you to get both. Hope this helps.
hi @mrt.., I really accept ur suggestion., i thnk wat you mentioned is best practice., so once if I booked a domain on my niche keyword.., after I avail good ranking and sales.., can i redirect it to brand name domain (xyz.com)??? will it fetch again good results....
Hi, yes that would be a good idea to do it. You could also have to sites, one site where you sell your product (your keyword domain) and the second site (xyz.com domain) for information about your company. So you would have for example: www.ebookstore.com and at the bottom of page you would put a link to your company site at www.xyz.com. (This is how I do it). I would suggest buying the domains at Godaddy.com and if you need a host I would go with hostgator.com. I have coupons for both sites, if you want them just pm me. Also if you need more help pm, I would be glad to help.
Domain branding is important, if you want to promote your own product. Otherwise for reselling business keyword domain drive you more sale.
People should jot down this because there's a common misconception making them believe keyword domains are the everything in business.
It depends on what exactly you want to do. If you want to create a brand and userbase, then keyword rich domain might not be the best one. However, if you're aiming for search engine traffic then keyword rich domain will surely help over any generic domain name. Ofcourse you can achieve rankings with generic name but keyword rich domain offers some free help.
