I was wondering if doing your own backlink campaigns for articles that you have published on article sites like Ezine helps with the article in the SERP's or is it a waste of time? Thanks in advance!
If your article have a good conversion rate, and you submit it to the right site, this is useful. But again, build more backlinks in different ways, cause i think article marketing is not enough.
The Backlinks are absolutely crucial. for one of our services, we do video posting article directory posting social bookmarks posting and RSS feed submission. The real secret to our success is that we link them all to each other. Lots of cross-linking going on. Another thing that's really overlooked is often when you create an account on a website that account itself has an RSS feed if you look for it. Promote the heck out of that RSS feed, and in the future you will have a powerful Internet backbone. Then the next time you posted that account Bang that will trickle through your RSS feeds and you get all kinds of traffic. Using this strategy for locally focused business I am often able to own six out of 10 spots on the first page of Google for the chosen key phrases.
Articles and backlinks are like beer and wings. They always go together... Always build backlinks with your articles. I think that's the only reason webmasters write articles; to build backlinks.
As everyone else said, backlinks are definitely critical if you want organic traffic. Another technique some article marketers use is buying cheap traffic (like from hitscheap.com) to their articles in order to trick the directory into thinking that it's "popular" so it is listed on the home page. I can't remember if this works with Go or Ezine though.
I build backlinks to all articles. It's easy to do if you know how. I don't waste time with building 'good' backlinks. What I will do is usually take the original article and then submit to lots others. I will keep the original resource box intact, but also include a link like this: "Original Article Found Here: AnchorTextLink". That way I allow for visitors to the website and people won't go around in circles and read the same article twice.
Articles do have high conversion rate if you optimize those articles. You will surely get backlink from those site. The thing which you need to make sure that the articles you write are of quality and contains some unique information.
