I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong because I'm a total adsense newb, but so far after two clicks I have made... a whopping 10 cents total. Now, I know people do make real money with adsense, but Im just curious if it is best to target better, block ads, or something else. I really don't know how to use adsense effectively. Never read a book on it and I only did a few test runs with it really. Because quite frankly, I'm thinking to myself, for a penny I would rather my visitors stay on my own web sites! LOL, I'm sure you agree. Thanks for the time digitalpoint!
Do ad unit optimizations and try different combinations! Use less ad units on a page. Use adsense Preview tool available to us.
It depends upon your intention. If you have made a website just to make money, then it is best that each and every visitor of your website leaves it by clicking on Google Adsense Ads! If you have made your website just to let people know about your thoughts and knowledge, then it is best to run no ads! If you have made it for mixture of the above, then you would have to optimize it for both things! So, first be clear what you want!
I do agree with what you've said. I don't have any sites strictly for monetizing so I care about visitors to be sure. So of course, however, I don't want visitors to leave for a penny. I mean, the dollar is doing so badly anyways that penny won't buy me much out of the country!
haha, the valuable first two clicks!! Try to use the large rectangle ad format and placed it at the top left. The number of clicks may increase, but we have no control over the monetary value of the clicks.
Target the right traffic and you'll make money. BTW why aren't you building a site strictly for Adsense? That's where the money is...let me tell you now...being "social" won't make you as much as an informational site with Adsense on it. The CPC depends on your niche and traffic source. If its organic and high keyword niche then your CPC should be higher.
how old is your site? maybe adsense is still displalying generic ads...it doesn't know what your keywords are and it's showing just low paying ads. Congrats on your first earnings
I would say concentrate on make a better website which serves the visitors once the visitors are happy money automatically flows in-----------just an advise .
The best is to target only those titles which has higher CPC and its best to block ads which you think will never benefit your visitors. But make sure, don't lure for click
It's all about experience. 10 cents for 2 clicks is not that odd, it can happen for anyone. It mainly depends upon the niche you're in.
