As I said, I don't want to turn this into a personal debating platform. However, when you want to quote an internal report prepared by a law firm as part of their marketing as a "source of information", I start doubting its credibility. And when said report opens with such an authoritative and killer quote, I'll confess it loses any remaining potential for credibility for me: The Penny Drops "Everything is very big in the UK in the consumer electronics space...the UK is the fastest adopter country of innovation on Planet Earth." Media analyst I've lived there. I've also lived in one of the other countries that would be more widely regarded as a contender for that title (Finland, New Zealand, Australia, The Netherlands ...). I can say that that is absolutely not true (though "has caught up to the rest of the world" in record time wouldn't shock me). But then again, my name isn't "Media analyst", so what possible credibility does my non-authoritative point of view have? Not so sure the governments of Germany and France agree with you, but then again, what would they know? They're not run by media analysts or law firms ... So you're probably right.
im right as its my view you cant say im wrong for my view and feel free to put your faith in mac. Your right your names not Media analyst so as you said what do you know The Penny Drops you have your view and i have mine and in my eyes im always going to be right.
Ah, the never-ending Mac-PC debate! I've used both and appreciate both. My adult children all use PCs; I use a Mac. No big deal. Who really cares? The important point is this: is the end user pleased with his/her choice of a PC (or a Mac)? That's all that really matters.
nopes, nopesy, not by a long shot. Apple is a niche product. MS is the populist choice. That's saying that "the new Rolly Royce Phantom will surely erode Toyota's market share".
That is true, Macs are generally more expensive. I think almost all Mac buyers are well aware of that fact. Thankfully, I'm sufficiently comfortable financially that I can afford a new Mac every now and then. Granted, not all buyers can do that. My college-age daughter recently got her new HP laptop for $600. A comparable Mac would have been twice that.
What stuff? Compatibility with what? Besides games, what can you do on a Windows PC but not a Mac? Don't tell me you just said that. Don't tell me you can pick up any component at any electronics store, plug it into a Windows PC and be guaranteed it will work but that it's not true on a Mac. In addition, does Microsoft guarantee it will work like Apple will?
maybe you live in a socialist block? I think people are moving away. beside higher hard costs, max have high opportunity costs. maybe your friends are the type that think they are revolutionary by jumping on a bandwagon?
excellent point there. Macs are more of a niche product. In Australia for example, a lot of new young drivers will purchase Holden Commodores or Ford Falcons simply because they are cheaper, run well, have power and are cheap to buy new parts for. Yet there will be people who go buy a brand new Lexus. Sure, its a car, parts are harder to get, its a lot more expensive, but they wanted something else. Another great point. just like the other point i quoted, its all down to personal preference really. Some people like to buy a sleek designed Mac and start using it straight away. Other people enjoy making their own machine for exactly the purposes they need, or some people have too much money or not enough to get one or the other (c'mon, we have seen those rich people who buy expensive stuff simply cause they can)
Personally I believe within the next few years or a far as 2020 Mac will be superior, I started this topic as I heard not that long ago within the next few years Mac is planning on bringing its prices down to be more competitive and with the whole virtual side of things with Microsoft, I believe it will lead the way. With the whole umbrella that Mac falls into. Is it to hard to believe that Mac could get to the top look at Microsoft did they not some how cheat there way to the top in the first place. Is Microsoft losing battle against Mac? answer I believe is yes
It's hard to believe that across all markets where MS has a major presence that AP could significantly erode their market share - the gap is way too big, and it would require a real mind shift (plus a lot of work, and no one likes that) on the part of tech support and a big investment on the part of management (juggling two OS's is more costly, so they'd be encouraged by tech support to replace quickly). And there'd have to be a MAJOR development of AP's corporate product (either internal or third-party server-side apps). And they'd have a hard time making major inroads without drastically reducing their prices, but given that their focus is margins, that'd require a complete about-face in corporate strategy ... ... unless, of course, MS continues on it's lackluster path to glorilessness. They become way too big not to reevaluate their R and D, and my one personal gripe has always been: how can a company that makes such enormous margins on its products (and generate so much cash) not spend a fixed proportion of it to improve their products? Office should wipe the floor with the competition in terms of innovation - instead it's just a big overblown processor and memory hogging hunk of confusingness. Vista was worse (build it and ... everyone will just upgrade their machines so they can run it?? What was that????). They've lost their spark (if they even had one), and just keep churning out uninspiring bloated junkware. And when they don't, it quickly turns into junk ...
The battle's for the place under the sun. Whoever wins it, gets more customers. Someone here said all stuff for Mac's has to be bought separately. Comparing to MS products, it's a 'lie'. Personally, are cool, but too expensive, but Apple seems to be more customer-caring company, so i'm on the Apple side.
yup recent reports show that many ppl are switching from microsoft to apple plus i love their mac ads
iv worked with both o/s i worked for a call center doing over the phone tech support for mac and windows system they both have there pros and cons i dont like mac becuase the limited programs is supported for mac most programs out there are only for windows but mac is more stable to glitches and system crashes
The only reason I would go to Mac is for the virus free system and compact design. However I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials and it works very well for free.
