I keep seeing a load of topics popping up about blog commenting questions, so I thought I'd make this topic, if you have any questions releated to blog commenting, reply to this topic and I'll answer them for you. I've been using blog commenting to build backlinks for over a few years now.

I know exactly what I'm doing and I know how and why it's working for me, so if you have any questions/doubts on blog commenting, simply ask me and I'm more then happy to help out a fellow forum member. :)

There are a number of FireFox plugins that allow you to find out instantly if a link is nofollow/dofollow - Although you can simply view the HTML source and find out, just googel 'firefox nofollow'
Yes you will, nofollow backlinks are still backlinks, they do they followed, even if it's not by Google, there are other search engines.

I personally don't care wether backlinks are nofollow, or dofollow, both have their pros/cons, but neverless it's a backlinks, I've never tired to just to get dofollow plugins, so I wouldn't know, sorry.

I have plenty of people commenting on my blog, but they are all bs spam comments. What I would like to do is somehow set it so that the comment can be approved(they are currently moderated and i dont approve them)to while automatically stripping out the html links to their junk sites.

    How would I do this?

They usually dont put links in the actual comment but their 'names' are keywords and link to some spammy junk site.

Ideas? I would like the updating seo benefits and additional pages from the comments, but dont want to link out, even with nofollow,to their bs sites.

    Thanks

Here is a question for you Xerox. Are companies offering these blog commenting services actually reading the blogs and creating relevant valuable comments for readers to want to visit a customer's site? Or, are they just adding "nice post" "great read" "your provided a great resource" kinda garbage?

    Glad to hear your feedback!

For me the hardest thing to find is a dofollow blog that is relevant, allows keywords in the link, and allows you to use a deep link. Many times I find that unless it's the domain level my comment won't take.

I don't know about a plugin that can do this easily, if you want to stop spam comments, add some math-question plugin - That's probably the best way to prevent spam bots from commenting onto your blog.

No idea, can't say for other companies, I get load of crappy comments like that on my blogs, pointing to some SEO companie websites, but all the comments I post for myself/clients are long (50-200 word) comments, related to the article and I've seen some even build a good discussion among other readers on the blog.

Yeah it's becomming harder and harder, my advice is when you find a dofollow blog, comment on as many articles as you can, even though the backlinks are from the same domain, it's still good for your websites SEO.
