Traffic Exchanges

I just read an article on traffic exchanges. What do you guys think of them? Do they really get you a lot of traffic?

I don't have any money to spend on marketing and it seems like this might be a good way to build up traffic with simply a time investment instead?

I also have an obvious question: are the quality of these viewers good? Are they likely to buy ebooks, click on affiliate links, etc.?

If you have any real-life experiences, successes or failures, with these, I'd appreciate it.

I prefer to use the free search engine submission servies, social networking sites and other blogs and websites that offer free link backs.

I have about 6 or 7 linkbacks from this site by posting threads asking to link exchange this way you are getting genuine people who do want to link to you, this will give you best results in the long run.

What is a "free search engine submission service"?

I didn't have much luck with exchanging links. I got a bunch people with link farm-ey, low content sites. It seemed a big waste of time to me.

    Very simple answer: No.

They're worth nothing. Not one dime. They won't buy anything on your site, they won't even click on anything.

These services throw untargeted, worthless traffic towards your site, where the average visitor will stay for ~10 seconds before bouncing. Traffic exchanges are used by shady webmasters who are planning to sell their site in a few months and want fake traffic to push up the price.

My advice to you is, don't waste your time of money with these services.

They were big back 10 years ago until marketers got smart. The very least you can expect from traffic exchanges is to find someone who happens to spot your site, click over and sign up to your list. In fact, that's about the only way to use them. And they work best for marketers. If you can grab their attention in 2 secs with something they desperately need, you might get them to visit your squeeze page and take action.

TEs have gotten even worse since browsers like IE have multiple tabs. People log in to an exchange on 3-4-5 tabs and then click back and forth to run up views to get more credits to their own sites will show more often. No one is looking.

As someone said... it's a waste of time. Unless you can get some 5-year-old to do it.

You're farther ahead getting backlinks and doing other things that actually drive traffic... things that actually work.

i agree with you, even if someone is slightly interested in your webpage then he will not even open any link, thinking that it will disturbed the traffic exchange.

    but on the other hand there is some trick;
make a page with only few paragraphs aligned in the center and contain big fonts,
also below the take action link like "click here" or "signup now" button, at a small note that click this link will not disturb your surfing or you can also write that link will open in new tab or window.
hope you got it how to do that.

but the efficiency will be very low.

Traffic exchanges are pretty much a waste of time. You are better off using your time to write articles and submit them to Ezine Articles.

Traffic exchanges have a niche. But they are not for sites with
adsense. They break the rules. They may be good for clickbank
products and building a list, as well as advertising methods to
get more traffic. Don't knock them totally.

Did you know that trafficswarm is the biggest, baddest online
marketing godzilla out there? (short of google, of course)
Trafficswarm has more than 500,000 users. Not too shabby.

It has an alexa rank of 1,977 and PR5
Not bad for a "traffic exchange."
It was also highly ranked by website magazine.

Interesting! Well, there is always two sides to everything.

But, seriously, with tabbed browsers as was mentioned, I can't believe you get any quality whatsoever even with 500 kusers...

Don't use them. Waste of time. Most the people on there don't actually provide any value to your site.

It's only good for getting subscribers, and good for splash pages.

Adult traffic exchanges works good. If you have niche sites you may convert it not as good as 6-7 years ago, but with the profit. Tube sites buy this traffic by the way.
