I really need to ask whether I continue accepting payment from PayPal or not? If I accept, the payment will be returned to the buyers and if I don't I will loose all the buyers who are only paying through PayPal :(

When 'Dadagiri' doesn't work, the only thing remains is "Gandhigiri"

this may largely depend upon what kind of work you are doing. If you are a freelancer, you can easily sign up at sites like oDesk etc and get a payoneer card for yourself .

anyways you can take some payments into PP for the time being - the money is safe more or less only the wthdrawals are not :p

This guy is 100% correct, I also know all these and that is exact reason upto 90% extent ... I tried to explain this in another thread where I justified why Xoom can not be used for long turn and business...

Anyway RBI wants to go through authorization because all the money you get paid add to Forex reserves and decide rupees value in Market. Now the days Indian freelancers are increased exponentially and they in total contributing to a big chunk of incoming forex...

Which need to be monitored and taken into account while creating futuristic policies and their strategy to maintain rupees value and other decision made by RBI...

And friend before abusing RBI Please try to understand that RBI and their interfere is very much required otherwise our financial system will be collapsed totally and will lead to more inflation and price hike of all commodities..

Freelance can signin to any service.
Ebay sellers are truly suffering as there is no option at all.
Paypal is ebay company and thus ebay does not allow any other service.

Thanks for your reply, but many users have already reported that the money was returned to the buyers. What you want to say about this?

U are rite! However, how long do u think it is going to take? Do paypal support wire transfer?

In that case, paypal will remit money to our bank accounts in $$. It gets converted at respective banks by daily Conversion rates and the bank also charges conversion fee which is again shared by RBI.

This all makes sense. This also explains why check is a valid option at this situation.

Infact Paying the paypal in USD in US or Switzerland and someone transferring the equivalent amount in INR in your bank could be called as "HAWALAA".

Ok. you are right. I am not against RBI here. Neither do i intend to abuse it. But there could have been a solution where they wouldn't have had to stop the activities all of a sudden. Its not that the people in US are getting affected. The ones' receiving the payments are always at a risk. Which is us ..the people in India. So they could have atleast thought about the people who depend on PP withdrawals solely. That too their own people.

And... were they sleeping before? We had smooth transactions going on before too? Why they suddenly stopped all these?

Also its not that the amount paid by PayPal is not being covered anywhere in the Govt's regulations and directions. If PP's Citibank account pays us in India locally... likewise PP must be paying Citibank in India in $ which is automatically under RBI's review. What else do they want.. Its a bank transaction which gives them exact details of what forex is coming in and what is going out.

But then this isn't money laundering or hawalla transaction.. The same amount of payment has to be done by PP to local banks in India who pay to our bank accounts. And nothing is being done in cash.. For this to9 be money laundering everything has to be in cash.. Here everything goes through banks which are completely under RBI's and Govt's eye..

Exactly my point.. Instead of a sudden action... They could have taken gradual steps.. everyone would have been happy then.. NO one's work hindered and RBI gets what it wants.. No issues thereafter.. BUt then it wouldnt be the Indian way if it had been logical and without being a problem for others...
