I use social networking sites and Classified ad sites plus forum posting and blog commenting. All have been good for me.
Well first of all there is no such thing as free traffic. It is gonna either cost you money or time. But in answer to your question I would say PPC
I get the most traffic from PPC. It really depends on your cost/benefit ratio. If you are just promoting affiliate links you would probably be best off just working on SEO and social networks. If it's your own product or service you can target a lot of keywords more effectively with PPC.
I find that creating unique content within social sites, and forums related to the content that i am sharing on my blog seems to get me a fair bit of traffic.
Here's the magic list buddie. Best to least best: Yahoo Answers StumbleUpon LiveJournal Myspace Facebook Twitter.
I have great success with articles, ....And myspace. What? Myspace. Yep. And using blogss/rss. How many people need help getting traffic?
NO dear. There are many systems where you can get free traffic but you do need to do some efforts to get some traffic. The more you put efforts the more you will get traffic. The system is completely such like exchange of traffic. They do provide paid systems if you don't want to put any efforts.
The best traffic system is to have a plan and take the action you need to see it through. For example, its pointless setting up a blog, twitter account etc and do only 1 post.
Definitely The social networks, blogs, forums, and affiliate programs out there just to name a few. You can even use Statcounter.com to watch over your traffic for you...for free Steve P.

Keyword research picking easy ones then backlinking to them with different methods. Timeline six months to see results.
ranking high in google. Thats what everything comes down to. When people are looking for information/product/service they type the term into google and start searching. If you rank high for that term then more potential customers you will get. I am not saying buy google ads on the serp page but rather to rank high in the organic serp. Look up what google views as positive and optimize your site for that! Instead of buying ads instead buy other websites that rank high for your term. Then make the site point to your page (ie. put an ad for your product/service on the site).
