yahoo publisher seems to be really good when it was new. its getting bad. aug. had highest traffic, and revenue went 30% lower. my alexa rank went to 17K+ from 28K+. i have to figure out any other way to make atleast 15% of that revenue. waiting for azoogle to call now. any other suggestion to make money from affiliates? my forum is abt TV series discussion, and Dish network or Direct TV affiliates may work... thx
Alexa should not be taken as a traffic statistic that is accurate, if half your users drop the Google Toolbar, and use teh Alexa ToolBar you will probably jump to 10K or even less. Look at digitalpoint ti has Alexa of 132, there is no possible way this site has more traffic then forums.offtopic.com but it does, because more people with ALexa toolbar go to this site then that one.
When alexa does the [i think] monthly scan to update their alexa they know what percentage of the people that viewed your site was using an alexa toolbar and those visitors get counted like twice i think.
Thats not necessarily true, what I know is Alexa's rank is based on its data of where people browse online. The only way it can do this is by monitoring what domains are accessed with its Alexa toolbar. If you do not have the Alexa Toolbar then you are not counted towards traffic that Alexa monitors.
What range were your earnings in with that kind of traffic. I think I would be able to tell if you're seriously underearning or not.
Alexa is a good indication of how your site is doing, but should not be taken as a serious traffic ranking. If you want accurate reports get a Google Analytics account.
LOL -- people using Alexa instead of true statistics now. Stop worrying about Alexa -- it has nothing to do with what you make, and most likely has nothing to do with your traffic. Users with the Alexa tool bar are the only ones making any impact on your Alexa rating, not your normal visitors.
to get back to your problem trytobe, you could also try ebay banners for television related items. I assume you are targetting your YPN ads for television related products? If not you should try that as well. In my experience targetting with YPN brings up the CPM.
