Had high rank, then ran a script that got spammed and was dropped by Google..

I was number one for a variety of different searches in Google on my static site. I installed Pligg (a Digg type clone) and left it there unattended for about 6+ months. It got spammed with viagra, porn, casino etc. type ads and Google de-indexed my site. I removed the script and restored it to the old site, still, a year later it is de-indexed and does not show up in Google.

How can I at least get re-indexed again?

You need to go to Webmaster Tools and submit for site reconsideration.

    From Google's site:

If your site isn't appearing in Google search results, or it's performing more poorly than it once did (and you believe that it does not violate our webmaster guidelines), you can ask Google to reconsider your site.

...and don't leave such sites unattended for so long again.

When you say restored it to the old site, what do you mean - back to the original install of Pligg or something else?

Thanks, I will look into this and submit a request.

The original site contained many articles that ranked well, then I installed Pligg as the new site. Then, when it dropped, I uninstalled Pligg and went back to the original site with plain articles.
