Reversing sitewide 301 redirect - Good/Bad for SEO?

    Hi,

My client owns site1.com and site2.com. Her site is hosted on site1.com. She hired a developer several months ago to help her redirect site1.com to site2.com but he did the exact opposite and flaked out on her afterwords so she couldn't get it corrected.

    So here I am:)

She asked me (among many other things of course) to help her with reversing the redirect but I wanted to check if this will hurt her in any way in the search engines? I'll also be redirecting about 20 or so site1.com URL's to the corresponding site2.com URL's.

301 redirects retain serps and pr as far as I am aware. Use them any change in the future should you decide to change from 301 should only be intelligent 404 error pages

    thanks for the reply!

I was aware that 301 redirects retain serps. The major concern I had was about reversing the 301 redirect that was already in place. The client's former developer redirected site2.com to site1.com and I needed to reverse that 301 redirect so that site1.com redirects to site2.com.
