So far your categories are concerned, your niche is competitive. So you cannot win here on the basis of single post rank. You have to make your category strong. And of course if category has the page rank it will contribute to the site and it will be easier to appear in searches. Tags play important in this regard but Categories are Wide and that's why if you post regularly in a category, a trend of crawl will be set for your that category. And this way you can get the better results.

PR and SERP are two different things.Try to get a place in google first page.I bet you will get a huge numbers of traffic.

I don't think the higher your page rank is represent the amount of traffic you receive. You could have a page rank of 8 and only receive about 500-1000 views per day.

do some keyword research and optimize your site against those highly traffic driving keywords .

put yourself into ordinary visistor's shoes . would you care about sites PR and backlink .

Having High PR and So many Backlinks is not same Ranking Higher SERPs.

 

I see the most of you say do keyword research and optimize site as per the keyword.

I have three targeted keywords.

1) Technology News
2) Technology Reviews
3) Latest Technology News

All my backlinks are anchored by these keywords.

Yet I am unable to rank higher in SERP.

Although for technology news, my site ranks 80th.

 

I believe that you are not aware with SERP or Page Rank cause both are different things, if you have good page rank that it doesn't mean that you must have good traffic cause all things depend on your keywords and also your back link but back links must be relevance your website.

 

There are way too many internal links on the home page which will be slowing down the site, perhaps add a sitemap of better internal link structure, and I can assure you this will double your traffic.

 

I believe you should increase your site strength interms of more pages. As more pages in the site as more chances to be ranked on different terms , naturally. Target the home page for the primary high searched keywords and then regularly add new content/pages with the ongoing common stuff about technology , may be few articles/blogs/buzz.
There is fair chance that you will get more traffic with more pages , well managed site in SEO.

 

You should do social bookmarking. Pr has nothing to do with traffic.

 

But too many internal links on the homepage should not matter my internal pages right? i mean each of my post is SEOed with respective keywords and articles are keyword rich too. So at least the individual pages should be performing awesome, if not the homepage.

 

Did you ever take a look at the competition in the SERP's for your keywords? Your up against old authority domains with 1,000's of pages indexed by google and some have millions of backlinks to their pages as well. I think you're doing well to get the traffic your getting!

 

have you tried optimizing for key words? maybe that help you?
