Anyone else got the email alert after withdrawal (Indian Paypal Users) ??

Well here is an update on Xoom


I tried transferring the amount from paypal to my Indian bank account via Xoom. Everything went well and I paid Xoom 1029$ to transfer my $1000 ($29 is fee). The transaction was pending and now Xoom has cancelled the transfer and has credited $1029 back in my paypal. This means even Xoom has some problems in transferring the amount to India.

Another user reported the same issue and even his money was credited back in paypal account and transaction was cancelled. The reason quoted by Xoom for this is "You cannot initiate a money transfer for Intra India as this is not supported by law".

So the bottomline is it's not possible to use Xoom also now. But anyone can try out since it's riskfree (if the transaction is failed your amount will be credited back in paypal account along with the fee)

 

That is a very bad news.

Than in your opinion what shall i do shall i wait for paypal 2 b normal or i use xoom and get money becoz i m in need of money and got to pay...
And well i didnt received any email on behalf of paypal..

 

Withdrawl initiated on 24th Feb is deposited in my bank.
All after that are parked back to my PP.

All right People! Good news is that Xoom's still working... The withdrawal request made by me from my PP account to my Bank account on 7th Feb has been deposited in my bank account today. This is a good sign.

 

Thats great news. Can you please share the details of the transaction. Did they call you for verification or ask for any documents. Is you paypal account verified?

Nothing much, but it is an update of the first blog entry, so some more details are there.

 

YEs.. I made the transfer of $x00 from my Verified Paypal account. I received a verification call from Xoom within 20 mins of requesting the transfer. The money was deducted from my PP acc only after the verification call.. Till then it was just showing a status of payment order. They verified my Address info and asked me where I got the money from in my PayPal. I told them it was the sum I receive regularly from my customers etc.. they didn't ask any further details. The guy said that's perfect said thank you and that was it. Today I received the sms notification from my bank that the money was deposited by a check. You have to make sure you provide a ph no where they can reach you immediately for verification. IF you cannot be reached by phone they mostly will cancel it due to verification failure.

 

As another thread goes, anyone tried withdrawing to a Credit or Debit card ? Does it work ? Or same as Bank and it is not working ?

 

Thats good news. I have a verified paypal account too. Maybe if Paypal does not do anthing in the next 48 hrs I should try Xoom.

 

The CC and debit card thing is same as the Bank withdrawals.. So I'd suggest you wait till the issue is resolved.

 

Yes you can try it. Now I'm gonna try the other option of cash pickup from Xoom. They say its fast and quick .LEts see if that one goes through too..

I don't see paypal as an option for USD payment for SBI remittance service...
