Why is my PR4 site not getting enough traffic?

    Hi all,

I have a site on Technology news which is PR4 and has quality backlinks. However, I don't see any rise in the traffic since the past 4 months. I get 75 unique visitors per day out of which 60% is organic traffic.

But for a PR4 site having quality back links, traffic should be real high! I mean, there are about 300+ posts on it, yet so less traffic??

    Here is the site http://ultrareview.net

I am getting demotivated by this now. Just don't know how to go about increasing the traffic.

Please check, and comment only if you are aware of the problem. (All those who want to comment just to increase their post count on DP, please avoid this thread :) )

You must realise that PR is not SERP and SERP is what you are after if you want visitors. I don't even bother to check my sites PR as long as I'm on or near the top of Google search results for my keywords.

High PR is ok if you want to sell links from our site, but shouldn't be your biggest concern if you want traffic.

You are mixing up the relationship between PR, backlinks, and
SERPS. There is not as much correlation between those as you
think. It is strength of backlinks and search relevancy. Oh and
a high SERP does not always get more traffic.

On the bright side, 75 unique visitors, 60% organic, is pretty
good. Over time, it will grow. Keep doing what you are doing.

If it's adsense you are worried about, tweak the colors, placement,
    and sizes. Tweak the title.

The reason you're not seeing a huge increase in traffic is because you haven't analyzed, selected, and optimized for key prhases that will allow you to be successful.

Yes, as all of the above posts have said, your need to optimize for your keywords more carefully.
Rather than me going through all of the issues, you may find it helpful to analyze your website here:

    Code (markup):
It's a website I just recently discovered and all you have to do is put in your URL and wait a while to get results. Good luck!

Well in my opinion there is no direct relation between PR of a site and its SERP. So far you are doing good on page optimization for your posts. But main page needs more onpage optimization. You need to add more text on main to increase you keyword density.

Well one of the most important thing I noted on your site, that YOUR CATEGORIES ARE ON NOT TO BE INDEXED BY SEARCH ENGINES. That's there is huge difference in Google indexed (279) and Yahoo Pages (1410). Only your Tags have been indexed and even no category found indexed in GOOGLE. So you need to make it allowed to search engines.

Now if you make your categories to be indexed by Google today, don't expect that Google will index all your categories in a day, you have to wait for a week or more to get your categories listed. I hope you know from where you can make your categories available to search engines for indexing.

Don't be demotivated, your site has the potential, but you need work hard. Well technology news gets positive traffic from Social Bookmarking so go for Social Bookmarking of your posts, even I found no bookmarking buttons on your site.

I didn't check your backlinks whether these are dofollow or nodofollow. So make sure if you want boost your SERP in Google then go for dofollow quality backlinks.

When your Google added your categories then go for link for your Categories, this will help you in ranking and SERP both.

In the last, I wanted to tell you about the behavior of Google for most of the sites, whenever a site is built, you will find a lot of traffic coming from search engines. But just after 3 4 months search engines stopped sending the traffic, that's normal case, so just wait and hopefully your site will be in coming months.

I hope my small knowledge base will help you to move up your website. Thanks

Just keep your visitors in mind and keep posting quality content.

Also, it helps to find social media sites that are in your niche... that can help you get new visitors because social media is a viral way to get quality traffic.

Thanks for the Site Checkup link interesting stuff!

Many factors affect the SERP, Page rank has little impact on the SERP. :)

You must first do your keyword research wherein you will check the daily search of the keyword that you want to use which will be really fit to your site and make sure that the keyword that you will choose will have a high result when it comes to daily searches. Then, you must optimized that in a way that you improve your SERP rankings and there is nothing to do with the PR because PR is defined as a important page only and there's nothing to do with the traffic in that manner. You must target the SERP rankings and not the PR rank when you want to gain a lot of visitors in your site. Make use of social networking sites such as facebook and twitter for the updates of your site. They are also used to earn traffic in such a website.

Wow. You've got a really nice site with a lot of good content. It looks like a mini version of Mashable.

What everyone mentioned is true, but because you have pretty good content, think about the people you're trying to attract. There are other ways to get traffic other than just the search engines.

Have you considered Tweeting your blog posts into the Twittersphere and picking up electronics followers?

How about writing a guest post on a high-traffic site like Mashable or a blog related to your site. The great thing about these sites is that the traffic is already highly targeted. Maybe you could provide a guest post about the creative things you can do with a digital camera, or a feature about laptops that most people pay no attention to. Make the post interesting and engaging to the reader, preferably useful content. Then at the end of your post, you can provide a link to the appropriate page on your blog.

Be sure to ask the owner first if you can guest post, and make sure it's a site that already receives a lot of visitors who comment, etc. Ways to find these sites is to google: your niche + "write for us". Most "write for us" links are at the bottom of a website. Follow the instructions of what they're looking for and contact the site owner.

You can also write an article on Ezine Articles, optimizing for a keyword, but the link in your resource box can only go to your domain name. You can't put a link to one of your blog posts or a subdomain, unfortunately.

your site has an awesome information regarding technology, mobiles etc....,coming to the point....
What @Raj Prajapati said is exactly correct, you hadn't optimized your site properly... the keyword which your are targeting (Technology News) your site is not ranking in google top 1 page....how can you expect visitors where your ranking at 70s and 90s??.... PR is not important for SERP's.....try to rank in top in Google then automatically traffic will increase...

There is nothing use of having high PR like this without more traffic, so you need to change your working methodology to gain traffic and not PR. Do participate in social networking site which can provide more traffic to you.

It seems you're wrong impression of "high PR means high traffic". PR has nothing major to do with traffic. Don't lose hope and continue to work on site. Technology is a pretty saturated niche with so many webmasters working on it. Try to target long term keyphrases if possible, and come up with latest stuff/news type of articles.

Probably you're not getting traffic coz you didn't picked your keywords first before starting to add content.

2ndly have optimized it and used any link building method like article marketing to build links for deep pages ?

Your PR does not directly relate to the amount of traffic you get. PR is just an indicator of the amount and how good your backlinks are(in my opinion). If you really want to get traffic, optimize your website for a specific keyword and try to get it to the #1 spot in google!
