No, as per Anuj Nayar's Paypal blog bank withdrawals will still take a few days. He did not give any specific time period.

I transfered 330$ to my Indian bank account on 30th Jan, 2010.But, that amount never reached my account.Yesterday, I mailed them regarding this issue and they said money has been successfully sent to my bank account on 31st Jan.Then, I had to contact my bank. They denied any transaction.

Now, today I got the money back into my PayPal account as 304$. Perhaps, they wanted to digest missing 26$.

anyway, I've mailed them .. waiting for response.

As according to the official Paypal blog :

    3. When will local bank withdrawals be available?

Customers should be able to withdraw their funds to a local bank within the next few days. In the meantime, we’re going to restore the money into the PayPal accounts of any customers in India who have initiated a recent withdrawal, so they know that the money is safe in their accounts. Customers will also be reimbursed for any withdrawal fee charges.

Reversals are now stopped pals. Now, the worries are:

    1. Paypal reimburse the reversal fees (Reverse of our withdrawals to bank)
    2. Paypal resume the withdrawals to Indian banks

    Dear XYZ:

PayPal has suspended select payments to and from Freelancers in India.

Guru.com has just received notice from PayPal that it will deny and return all personal payments to India until further notice. Guru Freelancers based in India will be unable to receive funds in their PayPal accounts while this suspension is in effect.

Guru.com apologizes for any payment delays experienced by its Freelancers as a result of the PayPal suspension. Although limited information has been provided by PayPal, we will continue to update you as best we can.

    How Can I Get Paid?

If you are in India and currently have a PayPal transaction pending, your funds will be returned to your SafePay Account as soon as possible. You may receive a notice of reversed payment directly from PayPal.

Guru.com also recommends using an alternative payment option until PayPal's suspension has been lifted. Available options in SafePay include:

    1. Prepaid MasterCard: You must first sign-up for a Guru Prepaid Mastercard with Payoneer.

Payoneer has generously offered to refund card activation fees during the PayPal suspension; card shipment will also be expedited free of charge to further minimize the disruption of your payments. Learn more.

    2. Wire Transfer: Please ensure that you have designated a current Bank account in SafePay.

    3. Check: Please doublecheck that the mailing address on your account is current.

See the Freelancer Help Center to Compare Payment Options

We all know this But Main thing you missed.

    Guru.com issued notice
Freelancers in India are advised to avoid use of PayPal until further notice.

This is something we should care about. Guru.com is not a small blog or organization. if they are issuing warning or I would say advisory then they must have some solid reasons and hidden news from Paypal.

I am worried now, Paypal is going to create more troubles for Indians.

well, they faced this issue for the first time and hence, they would have warned you in that way. If that's the case, why did paypal send mail to many of us that the problems will be sorted out within 72 hours max.?

As far as I know payments made through masspay since Monday have not yet been reversed. I think personal payments sent from Non Indian paypal accounts to Indian paypal accounts might still be getting reversed.

1 More legal news website saying about the issue. I hope this will give some clear info about the issue.

    http://www.pcworld.com/businesscent...ents_suspended_for_at_least_a_few_months.html

News Title :- PayPal: India Payments Suspended for 'at Least a Few Months'

    Few Main Points
"We temporarily suspended these services to respond to enquiries from the Indian regulators, specifically questions on whether personal payments constitute remittances into India," PayPal said.

"We realize that this is causing considerable inconvenience to our customers and I want to reassure you that this is a top priority for the leadership at PayPal," the company said.( Paypal)
The problems may have been triggered by a marketing push that promotes PayPal as a way to send money abroad, a source familiar with the matter said. The campaign -- which reads "As low as $1.50 to send $300 to countries like India" -- may have caught the attention of Indian regulators, the source said.

I think this is much serious issue then we were expecting. they also said withdraw will be working again in next few days.
So at least some good news from Paypal officials.

Dude, where is the MOST IMPORTANT point?

On Tuesday it said customers should be able to withdraw funds to a local bank within a few days. But for now it can do nothing to facilitate personal transactions.

It's written there in the news article. So, better stop scaring people who are already worried of losing money.
