I noticed all over DP forums that webmasters are talking about the fall in their SERPs. Well they are not alone. I am also experiencing the same with my sites and blogs. I have two gaming blogs and one article publishing website. Traffic from Google on both the video games blog have fallen sharply. One of them is immensely popular blog which some time back in period of October-November was getting more than 20K unique visitors daily. Another one is just a new startup which used to get 20 to 25 visitors daily from Google. However, for that new startup blog I see no visitors coming from Google today. And on my popular blog (I can't give its URL) traffic has fallen sharply to under 2K as of today. Its yesterdays stats were just above 11K visitors. The thing is I was experiencing many ups and downs from past 2 to 3 months but now water has gone over the head. Everything is almost gone now. From 20K to 2K visitors, things have put me under tension. All of my hardwork has gone. I don't know what to do now.
You are not alone, many blogs has down and banned by google.. although You have useful contents in your blog. I have experienced about that.. I have write useful content and help visitor to solve their problem but be banned by google. Right now I don't care about that.. although my blog banned by google but there are many visitor in my blog everyday.. they coming from web referer, bing and yahoo. I don't believe google policy anymore..
Right now it is most important to fight fear. You have built this very popular blog from nothing. In time, you will figure out what to do. Until then, do not let fear in. /*tom*/
yeah i know that. But person fears that thing only that he is not aware of. There used to be changes in SERPs earlier also but not like the one that have happened this time.
this is certainly not a ban. Can't say if it is Sandboxed because no one exactly knows what sandboxing is.
Google appears to really be cracking down on blogs deemed to be selling links, however if you have good content then you should still rank pretty well. It appears to be those building too many links too quickly that Google is penalising.
How about this. On Sunday, we lost 30 backlinks to our site according webmaster tools. Today we picked up close to 100!
No one can advise him if he does not even disclose his URL. He is obviously distressed. And you laugh at me for having compassion for a fellow human being who we see is suffering emotionally. That is sad, very sad.... /*tom*/
I've experience the Google rollercoaster in the last month. The site and rankings were stable for 9 months so I can't see it was sandboxed. Lost a ranking from page 1 to page 20+ overnight, then exactly a month later, it popped back up on page 1. Strange.
google would be having its own moderators sifting through blogs to stop them in case they feel the content is not appropriate.
Did you made any efforts while you rankings remain lost? Content has been built over time. Almost 1500 posts in a period of 2.5 years. And I never sell links. Just few advertisings from Adsense, Microsoft ads and infolinks.
I'm experiencing this right now. My site was on page 2-3 and it went to page 20 overnight? This past weekend it was bouncing back and forth from 2 to 20? Got to love Google.
I have been hired by 2 clients in the past 7 weeks to analyze the sudden drop in traffic from Google. Both sites had lost 98% of their Google traffic and it was lost on a single day. Both sites had huge number of pages and relied on internal linking for their ranking. They lost a lot of ranking. One site went from having 35000 keywords that where receiving traffic per week to 1800 keywords. The keywords that has some external linking did better than the pages that relied only on internal linking. Nothing was very clear but scarry.
