I start new forum www.booard.com and have question. What is the best method to promote ? pay for all posts 5c or maybe hiring some posters and pay them 10c per post or do contest ? what is your opinion ?

    Thanks.

    1. Definately customize your forum skin more. Everyone has seen that theme one time or another. You need something unique

    2. Paid posting is a sure way to go. But never ignore quality content. Your forum will fail if you have nothing ORIGINAL to offer. Especially with a forum.

    3. Submit to directories (not that important for you)

    God bless ya

There are amny ways to get some content boost and so with hits and traffic.

    IMO some would include;

Try a post exchanging service, that would get you started.
Start contests, to get more people to post.
If you're desperate you could always pay, but for thread opening, not posts.

    IMO..

He means you find some dude who also has a forum which does not have much traffic. You post 5-10 quality posts on the dude's forum and he does the same for you:D

Be aware that paying users to post can get very expensive, and you will need to moderate each post closely...

There are a few DP members here who operate forum exchange sites but I cannot remember who they are off the top of my head. Here are a few that I found:

    Milk 360
    AdminFusion
    ForumPosters
    The Admin Zone

I think its need your personal involvement, you should atleast start with some good topics and see the response. IMO paying for post can encourage useless post.

Post exchanges and running posting contests work well than hiring paid posters. Just make sure your offer a suitable reward to the winning members. A referral program may also work well once you get a substantial no. of members on your forum.

Drop whatever you are doing right now and for the love of God cut down on the amount of subforums displayed on the front page right NOW.

After that you get a couple of friends, you register multiple times and you turn into post whores for a couple of days.

THEN you come back and ask for more advice. You can send all the traffic in the world to this forum and no one would register because it looks, no, it screams "I am empty".

And if you ask for my personal opinion, I wouldn't use such a color scheme for my forum header. But then again that's just me trying to avoid a love letter from a lawyer.
