I tested out my site with a software which analyzed that my primary keyword is not made bold in my meta description.
I am using Wordpress and all in one SEO package for my website/blog.
I want to know how to do bolding of keyword in the description tag of All in one SEO plugin.
Are we allowed to add HTML elements in the description tag or what.
Will it work if I add that in the plugin description?

I would say doing so is a bad idea - doubtful it would work anyway but I have never tried. I am just going by what I have seen and believe and even sig links are better as normal text or might get flagged negatively - so logic tells me the same will apply!

Can't see the likes of Google taking kindly to such things even if they don't stop it automatically.

I don't allow it on my forum (in sigs as read it it a negative) and I am sure I could stop it in an auto way (I vaguely remember seeing something that stops it) but as that is the case I would say there is only one way to find out

    AT YOUR OWN RISK

I suspect you trying to manipulate in such a way will not do you any favours and may well have a negative effect.

That software suggests a wrong thing. You cannot use the <b> tag in the <head> section of your html file. And since the Meta description resides in the <head> section, the software's advice sounds like crap and clearly shows that its author knows nothing both about SEO and HTML.

The Meta Description isn't displayed and thus doesn't need to have any text formatting. Search engines may use it to build the snippet, but even in that case the text formatting is not needed. And as I said above it is technically wrong too.

Finally, the Meta Description tag doesn't have any influence on your ranking.
