Hello, friends! I have learned many great things about SEO from the people here. I have a quick question to ask about getting traffic to your website from articles. Someone told me that I should write some articles and submit to popular article directories and I will get a lot of traffic. My question is ... do people actually go to those article websites and READ articles? I hate reading that kinda stuff. This might be a stupid question but i really need to know ... Also, how many of you people are actually getting a lot of traffic from articles? I also know many other ways to get traffic, but I was a little confused about article-traffic
Articles in article directories tend to rank well in SERPs, so people looking for information about a subject often land on the article in the article directory. Also, alot of people will go to the article directory to find content for their own website. This has become less frequent since Google has started penalizing duplicate content.
Selectspat is correct. Since the article directory sites themselves are viewed as authoritative sites by the SERPs your article can appear in someone's search and you can get traffic that way.
Others are quite correct in their views, it is not about submitting articles and finding them at those sites, it is also about how well you can get those article pages (on article sites) to rank well, many of them can get ranked well for their keywords due to the inherent internal linking structure of these article site. But article marketing is not just about going and posting the same article to 100's of sites, then they become just junk content which nobody wants to read and search engines also devalue them. It is about getting those article pages also to rank well as well as making unique content available to each article site, article marketing if done correctly can be the mainstay of your backlinks, not that you dont need any other backlinks, but the rest all can just fill the gap and create link diversity
I recently wrote some articles... can't say I saw much if any traffic from them LOL. But the bigger point is that I did get SOME views, and if people are reading my material then I'm getting my viewpoint out there. People who take a liking to it or are intrigued will see my site and thus it is very good, "targeted" traffic.
Actually i think that by submitting u wont be able to get any of the traffic but rather some back links.To get traffic article submissions is not a way.It will just be helpful to get backlinks ,might with little traffic.For traffic generation and brand building of your website u should go for social networking and blog comments!!!
see some website are getting traffic and some website not its depend on article content and info second thing is u submit your website article in most popular article directory so any visitor visit that article and search your content or title keywords than he found your article and that he visit your site
