I guess he may not be banned because he started a thread about banning members, from his posting, he doesn't look very friendly towards DP. Maybe he had done something and was banned?

Try to imagine the man/woman hours it would take to regulate a forum of this size, if the mods had to rationalize and justify every decision they made!

If the mods had to look over every excuse for rule breaking, before banning a member, it would result in a massive back log of work for those people. What would result:

    1. The forum would be loaded with spam
    2. trollers would be on every thread, makig it impossible for any one to get any real feedback
    3. there would be threads filled with links to questionable sites
    4. we would all get sick of coming here and the forum woud meltdown

There will always be rules that either work or dont work for someone, but this isn't your forum so just play by the rules as they are. If you dont like it then break them and be banned..simple!

Things I have learned to keep from getting infractions or banned:

    1. Don't pick on DMOZ editors.
    2. Don't pick on insecure moderators.
    3. Don't infer that there might be insecure moderators.
    4. Don't do anything that might otherwise be construed as making a buck.
    5. Don't complain about being banned or infracted.
    6. Don't imply that moderation here is selective.
    7. Don't mention anything about cookies.
    8. Don't participate in P&R discussions - especially if your intent is rational discussion.
    9. Don't red rep moderators.
    10.Don't post period!

Have you red repped mods here Mia?
    Tut tut!
Edit: For anyone who doesn't know yet, unlike other members the mods here can see who leaves them rep. I'm sure the mods would accept any rep graciously in the manner it was intended.

    Probably.

    Maybe... Who knows.

Actually I don't think the mods can see who repped who.

    From: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php

"Moderators can't see any additional information about reputation left for you. Please do not ask a moderator to tell you who left you a certain rep (again, they can't see it even if they wanted to)."

BTW, here is how reputation used to work here:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=239#post1616

I think its like 3-4 per day now.

I think my favorite time to leave negative rep is when someone revives a really old stupid thread like this one.

No, mods can't see who repped who. But suppose member X repped mod Y. Mod Y could see it was member X who repped them.

    11. Don't post anything too close to the bone.
