I just called up PayPal asking about the status of withdrawal to Indian Bank Account. The agent was initially reluctant to give any time line; however on pushing hard (the dasi-style) he said it should take a couple of days more to fix the issue. Let's hope this week should see the end of misery for all PayPal users in India.

    Hello Guys !
    Same story here.
I requested withdrawal of about 164 USD on 30th January.
Till now, money is not in account.
It shows Status as Delivered though.
I got same reply to email as you got.
I had no problem for previous withdrawals.
Any idea when the problem will be solved ?

they can't totally the services to India, because its a bridge of outsourcing and i believe that we all are experiencing a temporarily error. It will be resolved soon with the RBI and PAyPaL.

I too initiated a withdrawal on Jan 28th.

No sign of the money yet.
When I tried Emailing to the them, they are sending "we will resolve it soon" mails. But do not think that we will get it very soon. :-(

We need the banks to come up with proper merchant account solutions by tying up with good payment gateway providers like Global Gateway and authorize.net.

Actually, there are too many restriction from the RBI and other govt. bodies on the banks and other financial institutions. In one way it is good while it sucks when it comes to this kind of situation.

Solutions like EBS should be good http://www.ebs.in/

Paypal should ask for verification proofs like PAN card, bank account details, etc. and then allow us to withdraw our hard earned money. Paypal already asks for such proofs when accounts get 'limited'.

Yes, Xoom transfer seems to be working, I have not received "Transaction Cancelled" email yet. I have about $9000 in "completed" transfer from Paypal, which is of course yet to hit my bank. I withdrew it in 27th Jan and another $4128.00 in total that was reversed back to clients. In retrospect I should have used Xoom for the $9000

This is what I got as a reply from paypal..
    -------------------
    Dear Anupam,

Hello my name is Rosalie. I am sorry to hear about this situation, and understand your frustration and concern regarding transaction ID xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Anupam, we’re glad that you’ve come to PayPal for receiving money.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to stop allowing personal payments to be sent to and from India.

Any personal payments that have been recently sent to you from India have been automatically reversed, and the money returned to the sender.

If you’re receiving money for a personal payment, such as gift, then we have requested that the sender find another way to pay you until we’re able to restore personal payments to and from India.

If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: :

1.Have the buyer log in to their PayPal account.
    2.Click “Send Money.”
3.Enter their email address in the “To” field.
4.Enter the amount of money they wish to send you, and choose the currency from the list.
5.Select “Goods”, “Services”, or “eBay Items”, depending on the purchase.
    6.Click “Continue.”

I apologize, if you were not informed about the reversal, however, we are trying our best to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.
    ------------------------------------

And upon contacting Text Links Ads (whose payments were reversed back into heir accounts) they said
    ----------------
    Hello,

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. Please note that we anticipate payments to be resolved by end of day today.

We will be in touch again as soon as these issues have been resolved.
    --------------------------

    Their reply says.....
clearly states that the matter is the internal problem of Paypal and may be sorted out very soon..... so keep patience and plz dont post any misleading comments/posts.
