Instead of arguing with the guy on whatever reason you think of why it won't work, why not go off and try it? I mean, with the time it has taken some of you to argue with Jamx in this thread, you could have begun researching keywords, designed a basic blog, placed your ads, and be making your first post. Instead you choose to argue with the guy on any reason you can think of why what he is telling you is a lie.

I guess it's true what they say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

There has been some great information passed in this thread but some of you will never see that because you're sticking to your old playground rumors that you've heard over and over again.

That's exactly my point. You don't think you can make it there, so don't do it and spend your time where you think you can get better results.

I wouldn't compare websites to brick-and-mortar stores per se. If the burger store doesn't work out, your livelihood is most likely on the line because a) you have invested so much into it and b) you have no alternative. If I open a website and it doesn't work out, then it's "lesson learned" and I make the next one.

My position on this is probably not the one most of the other people here have. I focus on creating one website at a time with a LOT of content, so it takes me one or two months to complete a site. With that, my site will instantly be better than 90% of the other sites in that niche.
Additionally, my sites aren't that specific enough for me to worry about not having enough people searching for the keywords.
Add to that the fact that I'm only doing this part-time because I'm actually a student, I don't depend on the success of my websites. However, my sites DO work and if you saw them you would think I was crazy starting them in the first place.

A lot of the people here just start one blog after another hoping one will catch on. That's simply not my style. I think big with my websites and I invest a lot of time into them, and they work for me.

I didn't say I don't check the competition. How else would I know how I can make my site better than their site? I simply said I don't worry about too much competition if *I* think I can make it better.

I am not an internet n00b who just heard about FTP yesterday. I am doing this for several years now.
And I could almost take offense in your quotation marks around the word "know". The fact that I am new to this forum doesn't mean I was just born.
I have enough experience to be able to tell if I can make something that is better than the competition.

However, I do admit that German websites are most of the time almost taken right out of the stone age when it comes to SEO and the likes, so it's a bit easier to get off the ground I guess.

I dont agree with your idea of blogspot
No 1 you never know when its gonna be lost and with that your earned pr your hardwork and a lot of time wasted as well as lost earnings.
what i do normally when i set up a new website I throw atleast 4-5 new domains to support it and they are normally blogs and this works very well and the cost factor? well i have never seen any of my sites doing less then 10-15 cents a day even if i dont update them for 6 months and i think its the same for every one, If you set up a new blog to support and you throw in 5-10 posts to get it up and running just take my word for it that by the end of the year it will earn the costs involved in it and give you some profit aswell and the amount of benifit you will get towards your improved rankings for your main sites? well thats something priceless :)
    blogspot? not for me
would like to hear from you guys

JamX, great job. Keep up the good work! The funny thing is I think I found two niches that pay top dollar per click by accident.

Make sure and ping if you have a blog. Technorati is a good place to start.

Be sure of anything before working on it.. We have to be sure before starting something. I simply dont believe the fact that you are haveing a 5 digit income and the other friend is earning 50k through blogs alone. Also you have stated that you never new an ftp until june. Its really hard to believe it

Being a Blogspot or Blogger blogger myself, this thread was very motivating. So far I could only monetize one niche properly, with 300 hits, but the keywords pay 10 cents... I guess it is hi time, i spend more time researching key words.

Great. Don't believe it. Show me up. Do better. That's the purpose of the thread in the first place - to motivate people that are getting down about all the adsense BS that's floating around.

I don't care if you believe me or not - I have tried to e as ambiguous as I can about how much I have earned since June so people don't concentrate on the money. However, if you insist on doing just that then fine with me. I'm not selling you anything so believe what you want.

And not a bad one either, I must say. If you don't agree with something, then why not speak out and we can discuss all points of view?

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a repeat of hundreds of other "motivational" threads ;)
