Hello Dear Friend.. Help me to choose dedicated server ---- Friend My Current Dedicated Server Is: Intel Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 3GB RAM 250GB HDD. + 100 MB/S Swith Port ------- I am willing to Upgrade But I dont understand which one is better.. friend can you please help me to Comparison... [1]------------------ Intel Core2 Q9400 2.66GHz 6MB Cache 1333MHz Vs Intel XEON QuadCore 3330 2.66GHz 1333FSB 6Mb Cache [2]------------------ Intel XEON QuadCore 3330 2.66GHz 1333FSB 6Mb Cache Vs Intel XEON QuadCore 5310 1.60GHz 1066FSB 8MB Cache --------------------- a] Which One Is Better b] How Much Difference Between Both of Them ? How Can I Compair.. Looking Forward. thanks Vmax
Why bother upgrading? The upgrades on offer hardly seem worthwhile and you won't gain very much from them. If I remember correctly the 6600 is a quad-core which is fundamentally the same core as in the Xeon 3000 range. The Core2 and Xeon 3000 are only for single CPU machines, so your upgrade options are limited to faster CPUs. In all the servers that we have I've rarely see a quad-core CPU server maxed out, whereas RAM and DiskIO can be maxed quite easily. CPU power isn't going to be the limiting factor with a single 250GB drive and 3GB of RAM. The Xeon 5300 is capable of dual CPU operation, but unless you plan to go this route it probably isn't worth the upgrade, and if I was going dual CPU I'd be more interested in the Xeon 5500 range. I'd say, keep the money in your pocket or spend it on more ram. Better still, spend it on backup or and additional drive with RAID. That would be a much better investment.
Intel XEON QuadCore 5310 1.60GHz 1066FSB 8MB Cache is the better among them. But as usual you need to have sufficient RAM to make it work better. For compare, you can sent your idea server spec to DC,then they will quote you the price.
To see what chip is better try this link: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html it will show you the better cpu's and you can search all the chips as well.
What are you going to host on those servers and are you buying your own machine or planning to get one as dedicated.
is better followed by server config But whether a server performance good or not depends on overall server configuration not just CPU. You need to look in to RAM, Harddisk (space and RPM) and also bandwidth speed and size. Let take if you have bunch of proxy site or video sharing site like youtube than they require more RAM and bandwidth rather than CPU. So when you post question give detail about what is the main purpose of the server your are going to use
helllo guys thanks for suggestion.. can you also provide me best dedicated server provider.. which also have instant support.. thanks Vmax
If your looking at upgrading your CPU, depending on what you want to do with the server you may always want to see if you can get an extra 250GB hard disk in Raid 1, this is due to the one hard drive not being able to take the read's write's e.t.c from the 4 core's of the cpu. Again this depends on what you wish to do with the Dedicated Server.
I think you should find dedicated server with your budget and needs for your client and feature... More bigger client you should have bigger dedicated server resource too...
