I wrote up a description to sell this on websitebroker.com, but decided to get some input or offers here before I did that. So this description may include things that make no sense here, just FYI.

Please read the entire description before asking questions or bidding

Hello there! Portfolio's Friend is a showcase / gallery style website for showing off an assortment of artist and designer portfolio websites. It does not showcase the artist's work, but simply shows a thumbnail of their well designed website with a link taking the visitor to it. This idea came from the plethora of CSS design showcase sites out there on the web, which are frequented by designers and design enthusiasts.

My idea was to take that concept, but rather than display any type of well designed website, I wanted to create a niche and focus only on artists with exceptional portfolios which are also well designed. The content comes from user submissions, but mostly from myself browsing the web for good sites. It is manually updated by uploading a screen shot of the artist's work, and supplying it with their name and link to their site.

I started it roughly 2 years ago, and today it has a Page Rank of 3 and an Alexa rating of 883,731. My initial idea was to monetize the site with advertising, which in the very beginning I did with banner ads from any design related website or company that was interested. Although with little traffic I couldn't keep advertisers interested.

To this day I honestly have been neglecting the site; rarely updating it with new portfolios, and not at all trying to network or create back links. However because it is in within the web design and art culture niche, it naturally gets links back from popular design and art blogs. I know the site has great potential, as all those CSS gallery sites receive high traffic, and mine being more of a niche could exceed that if properly run. I just don't have the time or interest in it anymore to get it there.

The site was custom design by myself; I'm the designer an co-owner of a small web design company called Brave Whale, which is linked to in the footer at the moment. Portfolio's Friend is built on the latest version of Wordpress, and therefore is easily update-able and managed.

The current locations for ads are at the top and in the footer. The top horizontal row contains 4 banner ads, however at this time I have disabled it due to lack of advertisers and for the sake of aesthetics, but it can be enabled quickly when you do get someone to fill an ad spot. The footer contains a column for text links, and at the moment has one paid link while the others are just fillers from sites I have befriended for sharing back links.

To sum up, this is an attractive custom designed site with about 2 years on the web and a moderate amount of back links and PR. It will require an owner who has an interest in this niche, willing and able to do some basic marketing and linking to get more traffic and thus, advertisers, in both banner and link form.

I am also including the domain with this sale, however you will need to have your own hosting. It may be possible for us to agree on a way for me to continue hosting it with all my other sites on my current shared hosting.

This listing here is for me get a sense of how much the site could be worth, and to see how many people are even interested in buying and at what price. I plan to improve some design elements on the site, just to polish it up before selling, and I will release those updates here, so check back if you are interested.

Note: I listed this site as fully developed, but if you think this should be considered a turn key site because the owner will need to work to get advertisers, please let me know and I will change it. Also, not sure why it says register.com is the registrar, because the domain name is registered at namecheap.com

If and when this site sells, I will have a contract written with a agreement to such things as, Link to Brave Whale must remain in the footer for X amount of months, and the original design must remain intact for X amount of months

Correction: the registrar is web.com, I have other domains at namecheap, and forgot this was one of my older domains.

I'm sorry, I don't know what a Bin is or what it does.

Oh! No I did not set a BIN price because I'm not sure what it could be worth. If you like, just PM me a BIN offer and we can talk. Thanks.
