You can straightway withdraw your PayPal funds to your local bank using xoom.

Remit2india can not be used while you are in india and sending money to yourself..

They have multiple check in place, first they check your IP from where you requested the transfer, you can fool them using proxy but next they will ask you SSN (if your conversion is from USD > INR) or any other document which proves that you are not in india. and they will ask it's scanned copy(only number won;t do)

They will accept transfer but you will not get money in indian account unless they get the confirmation ...

This procedure is in place as per guidelines issued by RBI.

When I first transferred money from m US bank account to India account they hold my money unless I mailed them scanned copy of my SSN.

Also When PAypal was not ofering bank transfer I have tried it with remit2india and they refused transfer saying it is not allowed as per RBI rules. They returned my money but it took about 40 days to get the credit back.

But we can use it if our client wants to send money to us.... where name of sender and name of receiver will be different and Client ready to share their details with remit2india.

You can save transfer fees by entering coupon codes but for that you need to find out working coupon codes (very few available to use)

I don't think many clients will want to go through the hassle of scanning and sending documents. Besides, not many people would be willing to disclose their SSN number.

It appears we are all at the mercy of paypal since there appears to be no other viable alternatives.

I personally believe there will be some problems as this payment is not for business. I wonder how many transaction we can do in practical. As far I know Western Union allow us 12 payments per year. I requested few buyers before to make payment through XOOM but nobody expressed interest at that time :(

Well PayPal still a good option for us and I guess it's only option for us. Don't forgot our main problem is taking payment and we know buyers always prefer PayPal only so we can't go to other way and also most of other system have some issues with Bank transfer so it's best for us to use PayPal itself!

Also things now good for me as no reversal in last 60 Hours so far means looks like normal again.:)

You meant withdrawals or reversals?. As far as i know, PP will no longer allow personal payments since they have already implemented it.

Rohit, all depends on your business nature. Say, if I work as freelancer, I would prefer to get paid through MB or Bank Transfer as I can avail those from freelancing sites. But for outside payments (not through freelancing sites) a bit weird.

Yes, I agree PayPal is best.

I do not know what other people are saying but my one transfer not yet reversed which send through proper shipping address.

    Crossing my finger. :)

If this transaction will be there till Tuesday evening than I will tell all my clients (whose transaction reversed) should send through this way.

Guys you can try as well.

Yes working with Freelancing Sites is easy but here many people make money from Webmaster forums and private deals which create problems for us as we have many option to take money but buyer always have one option and that's PayPal. So we have to depend on Buyers only! Specially Link sellers!

I agree with you. Because, some of my old buyers pay me directly too. I am more weird because all payments may not be $100, may be small. And its quite unrealistic to send those through wire or xoom.
