Can I cancel my domain?

Hi guys,

Recently I've registered a domain name, that contain trademark in it.(I didn't know that then)
I received an message from that company.

Now I want to cancel that domain, and to clear my whois information.This domain is registered as private with domainbyproxy.

So my question is how can I cancel my domain?
Or should I contact them to offer them to transfer that domain?

no. registering another domain is the best option.

 

Once it is registered it is yours until it expires or you transfer it to someone else. It is also important to note that ICANN (the god of domains) does not allow transfers for 60 days after a domain is newly registered. So you'll have to wait that out regardless.

If it was me, I would notify the company that you intended no harm and are willing to either transfer the domain to them in exchange for a reimbursement of your reg fee after the 60 days has passed, else you will agree to take the domain offline and just let it automatically expire at the end of the registration year. That should get them off your back.

some time if u delete domain registrar keep it in their parking so better remove nameserver and forgot that domain.

 

Yes, you can delete it after 45 days or 2 months from registration date. But imho I would first carefully check If it's true and If this someone isn't a scammer.

Actually I don't care about this domain, so I plan to stop using it.

But I've read different things here, can somebody tell me can I actually cancel a domain or not???

I contacted my hosting company and they told me that is is possible to cancel it, and my whois will not be reveald, but will this domain be open for registration after that?

What should I do guys?

1.To cancel the domain and to contact them
2.To cancel the domain and to NOT contact them
3 To contact them and to assure them that the domain will not be used and to offer them to transfer it

What do you think???


And about the email that I've received.I received it in my gmail several days after registering the domain.I saw that the email was send from domainbyproxy (that is because I've used private registration), but when I clink on reply (at the bottom of the email), I was redirected to email from egold ... so it is not clear for me who actually has send me this message egold or domainbyproxy?

 

I suppose you need to leave that domain name and forget about it
