While link building for my new Ask Directory. I am having a problem with some paid directories that simply don’t list the site and don’t respond to e-mails. I even opened some paypal refunds, I don’t know if will be a good idea to create kind of a list of nom-compliant paid directories, what you think? Cheers
If you'd like to list them, other members may be able to provide some feedback - there may be reasons why you haven't received a response to your submission or inquiry. It could also be beneficial to others who are considering paid submissions (myself) if there aren't reasonable explanations. I've been submitting a number of paid listings for eWebPages Directory and I might avoid those listed until it was resolved. I don't think you'll get very far with a PayPal dispute as the purchase wasn't for tangible goods.
I have not experienced that, but it is out of order when you pay to list,I will be watching this thread very closely, as we are interested on any updated information regarding this subject If you do decide to create a non-compliant list just be sure that all the facts are correct But rest assurred in general terms we agree that these type of 'business practices' Are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
This one is really pissing me off Dirave already open dispute several days ago and still no answer is not because of the value $3, but he simply doesn’t answer.
Are you reading this thread Dirave get this issue resolved NOW with ! Ask ! we don't need this negative crap
There are more on the way.. I am giving then time to answer the e-mails. It’s really bad because I lose a loot of time with this, looking to see if the link is up sending then e-mails and opening disputes. I really hope he reads this and PM’s me So I don’t lose more time with this.
It looked like the directory owner was in a long holyday period returned today and solved the dispute, my link is up and upgraded to featured for free So I have 100% success rate on paid submissions
this is shocking I understand when I submit to free directories that 50% of them will never list me but if your paying, links should be added within 24 hours.
I think 24hrs might be setting your expectations a bit high and would consider 3-5 business days as reasonable for paid inclusion.
Seem to take care of the paid listings in a reasonable amount of time. Depends on how busy they are. Plus whether the owner is at the computer often enough, or daily, to take care of business. Myself, I strive for a maximum of 24 hours on all my directories. But there are times when for family issues (hey, have 10 grandkids) I can not get to them that day. My thinking is, if I submit a paid listing to a directory, I will give them 7 days to take care of it before I start the bitching process. PS...in the links for sale forum, special on paid links on my directories.
i have submitted to quite a few paid directories, and all but 1 listed in less than 24 hours. The other took 4 days. I guess I am lucky.
Many directories are able to provide their review/listing service within 24hrs, and I'm appreciative of those that make the time to do so. Their service is really appreciated. Many of the larger or better known directories can take up to 3 days for a review/inclusion.
I have a couple of paid directories too, it depends, sometimes it may take me upto 7 days to approve a link because am busy doing other stuff, read the guild lines.
I usually try to review paid submissions within 12 hours, of course that is not always possible. However, I have found that fast reviews help getting returning customers.
Completely agree with dkessaris. We have also 7 paid directories and we try to review paid submissions within 12-18 hours but that is not always possible.
With paid directories, getting listed in a couple business days seems reasonable to me. If I submit on a Friday afternoon, I really am not expecting a review until next Monday at the earliest, and maybe even Tuesday.
For this directory I made more that 100 paid submissions 95% get listed in less than 24 hours 3% in 3 days and only 2% more than 1 week, the Dirave the longest took almost 1 month, but is understandable if the owner is on vacation.
Whenever I get a payment notification from paypal, I login to the admin panel and process it immediately... But it can be such that I go out for a couple of days and more time is taken.
