    Not until we come to understanding and for that, you need to remind me the Title and purpose of this Forum

    @sarahk

    I thought so.
    You have no idea what is the meaning of the Title and the function of this Forum thus there is good reason why you are having problems to understand the gist when members are posting relevant information.

    Well, I will help you. It says: Solicitations & Announcements
    Just to make sure we’re talking about the same things

    Solicitation
    Merriam-Webster
    to make petition to : entreat b: to approach with a request or plea
    to urge (as one's cause) strongly
    to entice or lure especially into evil
    to proposition (someone) especially as or in the character of a prostitute
    to try to obtain by usually urgent requests or pleas <solicited donations> intransitive verb

    Announcement
    Merriam-Webster
    the act of announcing or of being announced
    a public notification or declaration
    a piece of formal stationery designed for a social or business announcement

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1407714
    Now, please go again to and tell me how my post is contradicting Merriam-Webster.
    It should be easy for you after all you have whole bunch of derisory Rules on your side

    ;)

    Hey Fast, it looks like you left Sara speechless

    Fast, you're bad boy, she is trying to help you to understand that you never broke any rules and that you got your infraction because somebody in this forum loathes your guts and will infract you no matter what you post.

    Get over it or learn to live amongst imbeciles and stop complaining if you want to walk hand in hand with them.

    Beside that, I love your style, eh

    :)

    @alsatech

    It looks like one of my “friends” freed up his hand and made ugly red drawing in your reputation box.

    Oh well, what can you expect from geniuses whose mental aptitude not allowed them to keep debate… never mind debate, just simple civilized discussion.

    My reputation looks like Chinese Red Army attacked me :p
    Well my Chinese friend, this is for you [IMG]

    @Sarah

    I hope you all had good time :)

    Oops. Sorry... I have been replying to directory owners thanking them as I thought that it was the accepted etiquette. I'll stop immediately.

    isn't this rule bad for DP since it will reduce the number of post?

    I think DP wants quality post and not so much of post like "Thanks for this". Which has no benefit to anyone other than increasing the poster count. Gotta earned those count;)

    What about some people who bump their month old threads saying we are back to free and we are accepting links again.
    They should be given a infraction too. [I have many examples of that]
    anywayz well said

    As far as this Solicitations and Announcements section is concerned, it seems to be related to directories, here on DP. It will be useful if there is a unique section for posting about formal events - like get-togethers, business conferences, seminars, webinars, social gatherings. Can the Administrators make any changes for this?

    I submitted in a new thread my free web directory as everybody does but soon I got an infraction. In the post I said it was free, which is true, and I provided the link. Can somebody tell me why I got an infraction.

    Well one way to reduce all the "Thank you" posts is to implement a "Thanks" button as implement in many other forums.

    vBulletin comes with its own "thanks" button, it's called "reputation" and you are able to leave a short note. You can view your recent reputations in the User Control Panel.
