Hi, I'm currently working on my advertising campaign for my website http://www.adquick.co.uk which i am hoping to launch on 9th October. I currently have about £1000 (about $1900) left of my budget, and i was wondering if you could give me some tips on what i should spend it on. The things below, are places i have already chosen to advertise and have put aside money from my budget for that. Google Adwords Miva.com Yahoo Search Marketing Press Releases Directories Contacting Blog Owners (free) Text backlinks (bought through forums like this) So the things above are what i already know, and now i need to spend the remaining $1900 in the best possible way. For your information, AdQuick is a place where website owners can sell text ad space on their website and also a place where potential advertisers can browse our site and choose exactly the website they want to advertise on. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
This might sound like a naive and simple suggestion, but if we were to launch that site. We would spend a lot of time posting on threads in DP Because for sure you will get a lot of feedback and added value in launching your site
I would first make sure that the site is fully operational before beginning an advertising campaign. If you start advertising once the site is complete, it'll be more likely that people will come back or browse through your site. Right now you advertise for something that isn't even there yet...
Thanks for the quick replies. I might not have fully got across what i was trying to say which a couple of you have picked up on. Just to confirm, i'm not spending anything until my website is ready to go and launched. What i'm doing right now is just planning on what i will be spending our advertising budget on once the website launches. Like discoverclips said it would be pointless to spend loads of money and get people visiting my site and then there being nothing on there. Another thing i am going to be doing before our website launches is to try and get website owners interested in using AdQuick. I hate spamming people, so the way i'll be doing this is sending different companies emails asking to speak with the person who deals with their advertising and then take it from there. If no-one gets back to me then i'll leave it and not just bombard them with a sales pitch as i see that as spam. Website owners can currently register their interest on my site at http://www.adquick.co.uk/interested Hi James, yes this site is a bit like Adbrite. We have quite a few differences though, like better pay rates for website owners, more payment methods (website owners can get paid by paypal etc). So if anyone has any tips on places that i could advertise AdQuick, especially places where website owners will see my ad that will be great. Thanks
You could do a very effective pre-launch viral marketing campaign with £1k. Check out Dan Raine's challenge, or if you don't want to sign up then you can go straight to the blog here. He's posting some really eye-opening stuff on viral marketing, and new site promotion that you may find interesting! Dan
Thanks Dan, i was looking at that earlier today, and there was some pretty interesting stuff on there, i will definately keep an eye on that one, thanks. I have actually already got a sort of viral marketing campaign going already, i have a deal with a couple of companies where they have provided some pretty nice prizes for me to give away in a competition, and this has been going now for a bit and will run until the website launches. Because of this i now over well over 1500 emails address' in my mailing list which i'll use to let them know the website has launched. More info on this can be found on my blog at http://www.adquick.co.uk/blog
if you post alot of webforums like this im sure you will get a lot of interest in it. plus it doesnt cost you a penny. good luck
Thanks HideIp, thanks for the tip, i am going to try and post a but more here and on a few other forums, but i think you have to be careful not to annoy people by constantly talking about your own website in every thread as theres no way they'll want to use your service.
ever considered to explore OFFLINE possibilities to advertise your ONLINE resource? And what about classifieds like craigslist?
I'm not paying for advertising until my website launches, i was just after tips on places to advertise apart from the list i had above which i will be paying for once my site launches.
