Somebody told me that search engines love .com so I should prefer .com for domains tell me is that true???
There are more dot coms, so more come up. But the extension does not matter. If you want a quick example, do a google search for pagerank checker, pr checker, or some variation. A dot info has ruled that niche for a while. There is a dot biz that ranks very high for lose/loss weight. If you can't get a dot com with what you want, try something else. Websites get ranked, not domains. Stephen C
Top three results for page rank checkers @ google www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_checker www.checkpagerank.net/ it means .com doesnt matter and search engine dont love any extension .. hehe
I think search engines love both of them. The only thing is the preference. That goes to .com domains.
yes it does matter. Of course if no one is marketing thier .com name, and you buy it in ,info format, u will obviously benifet. But if that guy who owns the .com version begins to market, he WILL surpass you. .com is KING make no mistakes. eg:www.checkpagerank.net/ is ranked where it is, becase the owner of www.checkpagerank.com doesnt have it online, and is probley greedy, looking for a big paycheuqefor the name.
I'd say that's not exactly correct. prchecker.info is a PR7. It would take a whole lot to pass that thing. And that .com would not be as loved as you think when it came to competition with the .info. I should have also pointed out that a dot net, checkpagerank.net is very high as well. There are a whole host of dot coms trying for this niche. And not a single one has overtaken the dot info. And they probably never will. Stephen C
I think .com should be preffered as most people remember the domain name only and put a .com by default ..
From my experience Google gives a higher bonus for websites that use .com, .net, and .org. Others can still rank well but not as easily. Also you can get a .info, .biz for cheaper prices.
It depends on which market you are targetting. If your end user/market is local, then try making your country tld website rather than .com. Search engines also bring in default trafffic from your country first on search results and you would rank higher on search engine if your registered domain name is from that country. Hope this helps.
All of the data I have indicates that com/net/org are perceived the same way by search engines. Not sure about infos and other extensions though, I don't have enough data to know for sure.
I believe the extension makes no difference when it comes to ranking however when it comes to valuing a domain name then if it's a .com then it's going to sale for more.
Not true. That is urban legend. g00gle value all the domain extension is same. What differentiate them is the backlink to the domain.
