Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

My choice would be a gun free zone but then again I haven't been in a situation where I needed a gun.

Having a gun would make people think twice about messing with you.

You deserve to be shot for driving VB!

I had a gun pulled on me in a pub once when I wouldn't serve a guy after closing. Funny thing was that he'd had to walk past half a dozen uniformed cops to get to the bar. Needless to say he had a court appearance as a result.

I'm also in Singapore, I would imagine if you are a member of the rifle or pistol clubs you are allowed to have a gun. In last Saturdays Straits Times they had an article calling for Singaporean shooters for the Olympics. Just do National Service- you'll get to carry a gun around the airport and look important!!!

I enjoy recreational gun shooting. My favorite is the set of black powders my father has. The 6 chamber revolver is great :)

I used to own a BB gun lol

Sounds stupid but it was a serious bit of kit, about $450 new plus had about $250 of add on shiny bits, then I came to my senses :)

You can argue it's the person behind, the gun that kills not the gun, just like cars don't kill people, the drivers do, but it's not that black and white.

cars were made for driving, killing people can happen
guns were made for killing alone

    just my $0.02

Haha. Here in Canada cops rarely carry guns. I have asked a few people about it, and they said something about "trusting the public"....

Oh really? Tell that to the several thousand people killed by car bombs.

We should outlaw cars because terrorists put bombs in them and kill people. Yeah, that makes perfect sense too. :/

So it is ok for the public to have guns because they dont kill people? the people do?

Fine let's all allow grenades, swords, bombs+ RPG's! Hell they dont kill people, the people do, so it's o'kay!

I don't think you get to own real guns - only air rifles. Even the Singapore American school has a shooting club - they got a permit from the government allowing them to use real air rifles.

And why join NS? I'm not a PR and don't plan to be one. Waste of 2 years. 3 months just to get a revolver? Then another 3 months for a M16? Then another long period of time for officer training. LOL. The NS training is so ineffective too.. I challenged a NS man to a martial arts fight xD. They obviously don't focus too much on hand to hand combat - I kicked him in the head so many times I'm surprised he stayed concious.

yeah guns totally suck, here in Portugal a new law just came out, if you wana buy a gun you´ll need to have classes about firing weapons, you are subjected to a a psicologic test and then you can buy it.

the problem are stollen gun´s and unresgisted one´s.

    Anyway i hate then...

really it´s good tha everyone knows how to handle a gun to avoid accident´s.
Mental test´s are also good to avoid maniac...in theory.

hoo the only give licence now only to people that have risky professions or have been threatned.

Yes, but people with gun kill people more easily.
People carrying gun often mess (tragically) without thinking much.

I had some bad experiences with people without gun, I was able to manage it, I'm glad I didn't meet one with a gun. I would be dead...
