How $much would you offer to buy out DigitalPoint.com

    It's Shawn's birthday today! There's enough threads wishing him a happy bday so I thought I'd start a little thread about his little baby, DP.

    Grossing in $15k a month... $180,000 a year.. I think that makes DP worth $1,000,000. How much would you buy out DP for?

    I wish i had 10,000,000 And the site would be mine (If DP is willing to be sold that is) Damn i know this site is making money... all these guys come in here to post comments but then the site gets popular just because of that

    Is there a formula for working out how much your website is worth? I'd be interested to know how much my forum is worth. :)

    But as Business Model it has got to be worth a lot more than anyone has mentioned in this thread so far

    If I had 1 million I would. If you are able to make your investment back within 1-3 years you are doing pretty well; however, only if you had tens of millions would you want to spend 1 mil on a site.

    All I know is that DP has made me something in the region of $4,000 extra income since I joined mid-July. It's priceless to me. If Shawn sold I'd have to get a real job.

    hmmm well I don't get that it is worth a million from the stats posted... $180,000 per year it will still take you 6 or so years to pay off your investment. Can you imagine what DP will be like in 6 years? could be non-existant (especially as a change of ownership is likely to drastically change the culture of the site). It would be risky (silly?) to spend big bucks on a site thats' money is made from advertising.

    Not sure why it's even being discussed, because it's not for sale unless the offer was in the range of $1B (and even then I would just "consider" it).

    Advertising revenue from the forum (or advertising at all) is a tiny fraction of the income from Digital Point Solutions. People forget that we are a "real" business, with real products and have been around for 11 years now.
