If you are doing article marketing, do you focus on submitting to a couple of article directories, or submit to 1,000 directories?

we, to be honest if there is one artical that gets viewed forexample 100 times a day, and there are 1000 directorys thet get viewed about 100times a year, then i wouldsay that one directory, you need to advertise in the place that has people viewing it, otherwise your not reaslly going to get any benifit from it...???

    many thanx

On the other hand if you're trying to get a website to rank in Google (building backlinks), it is better to use multiple directories. Google thinks of themselves as a sort of democracy; they don't want just one guy running the show.

In that case I would still use multiple directories, just do some real good keyword research with my articles.

I'd personally suggest you stick with ezinearticles ONLY, with well written unique articles, but the secret to article marketing which so many people seem to forget, you need to build backlinks to your articles page for it to get traffic from search engines, without this traffic, the pagerank won't increase, so the backlink isn't worth as much, as well as the traffic will also send you traffic to your landing page/blog/whatever your promoting.

Your submission in directory will be counted in google. So it is better to submit on many directories than 1 article site.

If you focus on the top 10 or 20 directories, then it will be much easier for you. You need to remember that creating duplicate content at 1000 directories (I mean, come on! How are you going to spin an article 1000 times? really?), then each of these articles are going to be seen as duplicate content. Using somewhere like AMA or Content Spooling Network, you can spin an article enough for a hundred directories with only a few mins work, but again, if you focus on the top ten or twenty directories, you are going to get enough bang for buck for your efforts.

I dont see the point of submitting an article to a 1000 directories. I use only two, Ezinearticles and Goarticles and I am happy with the results from just those two.

Screw both of them. Find a blog or website that ranks highly for your keyword. Approach them for advertisng space on their blog. I have done this for my niche and it worked out far better than using adwords. I have even developed a strong business relationship with the website.

Disclaimer: This is Just my 2 cents. :)

Ive found that just using Ezinearticles works for me. Just make sure that the content of your articles are interesting and unique.

Submit to the top 50 article directories, top 5 get you traffic the other 45 are for backlinks, just mix up the title and resource box and you are good to go.

classify all article directory resources to level ABCD, from the best to footy.
Make effort on level A and B, try on C and abandon D.

Huge numbers of article submit sites do nothing but ruined your job.
