Oh! So it's "poor baby" if you want to run current modern standards and IE can't handle that, eh?
As long as it's not IE, yeah. Or as long as you install someone elses plugin, otherwise, no.

The rest of your rambling is worthless. You claim IE is so great cause of something they did 10 years ago (and nothing since) and it's just "poor baby" if you want to run modern code today and IE, in most cases, can't. I'm leaving for Chicago in a couple hours so I don't have time to mess with this nonsense so I leave you with this:

IE has lost 7% market share every year for 5 years. At the end of this year, ChromeOS will come out. In 3 years from now, most people will NOT be using IE anymore. Everyone will be using Firefox or Chrome, including you, because IE won't do the job web sites and customers require. Guaranteed. Save this link and talk to me then.

    Allow me to repeat myself.

It is inappropriate to implement support for an unstable draft standard.

It is not good for your customers, it is not good for you, and it is not good for the internet. There is a REASON that the standards process has a "call for implementations."

If you do not wait for that call, you are out of line.

And honestly. Seriously. Do you NEED those technologies? WTF are you doing that is so damned important, you need all the "latest and greatest" technology?

Do you know why there is no SVG support native in IE? Because nobody is using SVG. Nobody gives a rat's arse about it. There are three guys in their basement whacking off to anime that want SVG, so they can zoom in on the action. Nobody else cares.

Okay, let's sum up. You WANT Microsoft to:

    - Write their own version of code someone else has already written,
    - Force you to install that code whether you want it or not,
    - And forbid you to use the code someone else wrote if you like it better.

You WANT this. It would be BETTER. You ACTIVELY PREFER that Microsoft waste time and money forcing you to use one and only one source of support for this file format: Microsoft.

    Right?

Including the part where the three browsers that support the standard are produced by the companies that are writing the standard?

    Does that seem right?

    Praeclarum custodem ovium lupum.

Even if that happens, most people will STILL not be using Firefox.

Because even if you pull the 13% market share you seem to think you will over the next three years, and reduce IE's market share to less than 50% - you'll still be more than 10% behind.

Let's put this in some really obvious terms, okay? Assume that your claims about Firefox and IE are true.

It has taken this amazing standards-compliant web browser that's faster, smaller, cooler, and whitens your teeth while you sleep five years to win 24% market share from the crappiest, slowest, garbage web browser on the planet that DOESN'T EVEN WORK.

You are telling me that people are so amazingly, outrageously stupid... they just can't tell Firefox is better, and continue to use something that sucks harder than an Electrolux because they similarly can't tell it's no good.

I suggest that maybe, just maybe, if I can't tell how much this rocks - maybe it doesn't rock so hard after all. And if I can't tell how much that sucks... well, maybe it doesn't.

And either way, as a marketer, if you can't sell a superior product - get off the damn market.

Well, you answered your own question. I already showed how you don't know what you're talking about. I'm still out of town and don't have time to mess with your behavior. When you let Microsoft tell you what to think, rather than think for yourself, it's difficult to teach anyone anything.

It is not important which browser is better. Which browser people use, that is important!

I dont know about you but to me after awhile all the new bells and whistles get annoying.

All I want is a simple browser.

Heard a lot about IE8 but never experienced it yet. I'm using Firefox for quite a while now and don't want to leave it as I don't have any problem with it.

I would ignore much of what Mr. Drhowardfine has to say. He is a known troll on digitalpoint forums (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1579316). Not worth even bothering with him as he cares nothing other than Anti-IE sentiments (yes, IE sucks, but we don't make it our job to let people know and insult the knowledge of others who are well aware). The only thing you will get out of him is half facts and personal insults, so just ignore him rather than fuel the troll.

There's a difference between trolling and displaying facts.
As a long time web developer, IE makes my job more difficult and makes web development more expensive for my customers. It is to my advantage, and the advantage of all web developers, if IE would go away. To help in this endeavor, it's best to educate those who don't know just how inept IE is as a browser and hope they switch to anything else. That is my goal. To rid the planet of IE or, somehow, get Microsoft to fix it.

That is a far more worthy goal than yours of letting the ignorant remain ignorant.
