Anyone else got the email alert after withdrawal (Indian Paypal Users) ??

Update for everyone new to this thread

PayPal is reversing all types of payment to India.. Even payment received as "Goods"/"Services", and with valid shipping address....Better stop all transactions until this issue gets resolved...

Paypal has not yet provided a clarification or Notification of this issue anywhere...Lot of users are getting conflicting e-mail messages from Paypal, which are mostly Copy/Paste messages or canned messages...They are hiding something....

Ah, I guess I missed some of the action earlier in the day today. But this is a very unfortunate development.

 

As of now it appears there is absolutely no way to send payments to Indian paypal accounts.

 

Here's the screenshot of the redesigned paypal homepage...

 

Only direct payments to and from India are being reversed no matter they come for "service", "goods", "personal" or via credit card even if they give complete shipping details. Subscriptions/recurring payments and sales through websites' "buy buttons" are safe and NOT reversed so far.

 

I paid my hostgator hosting bill on the 3rd through a subscription. The amount was around $250. It has not yet been reversed.

I read somewhere in the middle pages of the forum that three guys had withdrawn around 30th Jan and received their payment on their banks.

 

what about payments paid via Invoices??

Ok...Today I made 2 transactions by sending invoices to my clients...

I'll update here if they too get reversed....

 

Yeah, until now, it seems that "subscriptions" and payments made via "Buy Now" on websites aren't affected..

Honestly, I hate this uncertainity. I would prefer if paypal comes out and informs us right now that they will not provide their service to Indians from now on. We could at least start looking at other options. This uncertainty is very frustrating. Is it a technical bug? Has paypal been hacked? Is it a policy change from paypal? Is it a policy change from RBI? Is it a temporary issue? Is it a permanent issue? Damn, this is driving me crazy!!!
