In top 5 in a week

looks like google has become faster at indexing pages... One of my site is ranking 5th after 6 days. It is a pretty competitive keyword. There are mostly PR 4 pages in top 10 and my PR0 website in the middle. Well I wanna know if anyone else has experienced something like that lately.
    Results 1 - 10 of about 2,180,000 for

P.S. Do you think PR5 and PR6 backlink from wikipedia might have something to do with that ?

Yes, I've noticed a difference in my latest site. Depending on your definition of competitive, but I've seen a speed increase as far as bot activity and indexing.

I've seen it before but it doesn't necessarily mean it'll stay there, so keep promoting.

GoWFB_SEO. It's not impossible at all. I do it all the time. However it rarely stays that way for me. #1 one day. #3 two days later. #10 two days later.. hey! where'd it go. haha.

That is true and for the OP to post they rank for a term that lasts no time... is wasting everyones time

It is also widely known that many will experience front page listings due to links and popularity say from a press release, or in the OP case a wiki mention and then will drop out of existence for many months to come.

Google is not about to let their guard up fighting spam and in the amount of time needed to build TrustRank....it takes months to build trust for most webmasters.

generally happens to new sites, but then they go MIA for about 6 months or so.

I dont think its wise to reveal the URL and the keyword because his link might be removed from wiki. Yes, wiki really helps especially if it's relevant to the niche of the site. As long as you offer good content on wiki you can be sure your link will stay there but if not just count few days and your link will be removed especially if the keywords is really competitive. Elkman is watching you there in wiki. :D:p

You have no trust built with Google.....that is why it happened to you too....

I am #1 and domain was registered on 20th august 2006. It's like this since Google indexed my first page and today I have only 28 pages indexed for this page.

I don't want to play in the sand! :(
