I wonder if the NY Post, and others who took the same low-road, will print "corrected" headlines, "Ramsey Murder NOT Solved" .... His lawyer's statement yesterday was almost laughable - condemning the U.S. government for dragging him back the U.S. to face these charges without merit or evidence ... The fact remains that the Thai gov't expelled his ass for being an undesireable. I still hold to my theory that Karr knew he was going to be expelled due to his outstanding charges in California and then went down this road in an attempt to later build a mental competency issue and give some overly liberal attorney fodder to feed the press about how he was mistreated .... and they wonder where lawyers jokes come from and people generally detest attorney's as a whole ....
Actually he does. He is being sent back to California to face 5 misdemeanor charges of child pornography. Only in California would such a thing be a misdemeanor, and not a felony. I guess we are back to square one again... At this point, I still think the parents had something to do with it.
Now they need to find a new story. lucky for us he can not come back to Thailand anymore he is blacklisted beucase he is a pedo.
He has got a new job, now he is rich and famous When he gets out from the stretch he will get from the California Court He is going to be :- a lifeguard at a car wash !!!! The mind boggles how bizarre this whole story is.
What I cannot figure out is why Thailand kicked him out and listed him as "undesirable", when (and this is according to news reports here in the US) the reason these sick people go to Thailand in the first place is because it is ok to have sex with young children over there. Again, this is from what I have read. I've never been to Thailand. Is that really true?
There is an inordinate amount of negative publicity about Thailand, which is unfortunate and in many instances is nearly 100% fabrication The fact is that it is against the law to have sex with children, and many NGO set ups assist in helping enforce those laws Of course cases do occur, but then again they occur in most countries He was kicked out of Thailand because any in-competent DA issued to the International Police an arrest warrant to get 'this freak' back to the States to be convicted on the murder charge Of course as we all know, the DA then found there was no DNA to convict
Well Vietnam felt it necessary to stick him in prison just this year I believe. For non other than child porn.
I know that all too well... There is an inordinate amount of negative publicity about the US both outside and INSIDE the country as of late. By "children", what age does Thailand consider the "age of consent"? True enough. Yeah, that whole thing is a bit of a mess. The dude still looks like bad news, and will likely do some time somewhere. Thanx for the info.
Well the answer is somewhat ambiguous One point of common confusion is that while the general age of consent in Thailand is 15, Thai law specifies that the age of consent for sex work is 18
John Mark Karr just been on Larry King Live Oct 17 2006 (whether anyone likes or dislikes this guy is another subject) but one thing for sure he was too smart, as he has handled the media circus with ease, beaten all the charges against him, and now looks forward to making a fortune, writing a book, interested in a movie And so the Circus moves on Whats next will he win an 'Oscar'
Yeah, I found him extremely well spoken, with a tremendous vocabulary. He does seem quite smart. But he still seems quite creapy. What a weird interview that was.
Last night in his interview, he refused to answer that question or even talk about the topic. All he would say is, no, I did not go there for a sex change operation, but yeah, they are the best place to go. Starting calling it, SRS, you know, using all the "PC" words to describe something he has no interest in doing. However he would say, "I would be proud" in reference to the SRS (that Sexual Re-assignment Surgery)... You learn something new every day. SRS... That's funny. Who comes up with these nifty little PC acronyms?
Are you sure that SRS does not mean 'snips Re-assignment Surgery' when referring to a guy as it seems they snip it off That must hurt
Actually, (and I think I saw this on Discovery or something like that)... The procedure involved inverting, not snipping... I think they took the member and cut it and turned it inside out or something... All I know is I did not make it through the entire program.
To each his own... I guess you have to respect someone that puts them through something like that. But damn, the thought of it? ICK.... I really believe some people are just born that way. "Normal" is a great movie to watch if you want to gain a better understanding of one man's struggle with his sexual identity. I have to say, watching Tom Wilkenson's character, you really find yourself pulling for this guy. Jessica Lang is wonderful as well in this performance. If she stuck more to acting then political ranting, I'd like watching more of her.
