Hello. I'm in the process of starting a website template store. Within the store will be "demos" of the templates in action. I was wondering if there is anyway to protect people just stealing the design from the source code on the demo page? Is there an easier format like XHTML/CSS or PHP to protect the content. Thanks for everyone's help in advance.
you can show only screenshots of the template with your company's water mark. of the sample preview should be made with watermarked images. You should also reduce the quality of the images in the demo's. there is no way you can stop stealing
Thanks for your reply, but the demo has to be browse-able, so the user can explore the template. What's the best format? PHP? HTML? XHTML/CSS?
does not matter you can use anyting php, or html finally everything will be html and javascript in the browser. For each selling template you have to create a similar preview template which involves lots job
Well Man, Its virtually not possible to restrict your site to not let the people copy your designs. No matter guys are so good in the photoshop you show them anything and they will make a clone in couple of hours. So no matter what you do the printscreen option on the keyboard will always make your design to be copied......
I don't know for what these templates are for. The best way to make them harder to copy is to put some complicated logic and unique features in the server-side code.
I might consider this, but I think its the not the right path for genuine customers. That's so true. That sounds like the best option. What do you suggest adding to landing page templates? What kind of server-side code?
The moment you do that, there is no 'hiding' it and trying to do so is nothing more than a lie. HTML/CSS doesn't work that way. Which would make anyone who knows HTML/CSS (like a friend the know nothing idiots who use templates might ask for an opinion) immediately think it was garbage.
