Targeting high competition keywords

    Lets say you are targeting 2 or 3 keywords in an article. The first one will be a good keyword that you will most likely be able to rank for.

    For the second keyword, do you ever target very high competitive keywords, just in case you can get some traffic from them? Or do you make your 2nd and 3rd keyword that in your same list of keywords that you will most likely be able to rank for in google

    I would go for keywords i can rank for even for the 2nd and 3rd keywords..unless ofcourse i am trying to get good money per click i.e using adsense on the page

    I agree get all the easy ones you can first, then work on the hard ones. Also mix them up.

    I would only go for high competition keywords if my site had good authority to compete.
