squidoo fallen out of favor

Anyone agree with the fact that squidoo has fallen out of favor with Google? I submit article after article and get absolutely 0 visitors. Not even indexed. Thoughts?

Squidoo is complex, but once you understand how to use the modules properly, the ranks go up like crazy. After I understood how to maximize my lens I shot up to number 23 and received comments, too.

It's about keeping your content fresh and employing proper tags, knowing the best modules to use, and where to submit your Squidoo Lens. I'm not on page 1 of Google for my keyword. I'm on page 4, but I'm able to get decent referral traffic from within Squidoo and other places I link to.

Squidoo is still good and works for me. Some of my weird lenses get 100UV a week.. ehh! just work on it, create backlinks and promote it.
Hubpages are good too but squidoo has lot more options!

I did a campaign about 1 1/2 years ago that kicked some serious traffic at You Rock Radio. I never really liked Squidoo that much, I actually farmed out the work to a guy in India. Worked well then.

All of these "social" sites have a half-life whereas they eventually are no longer the latest and greatest fad of the moment. I think Squidoo is in that phase now. Twitter will get there and Facebook too. Then some other new thing will come along and be all the rage. It goes like that.

Honestly? It depends on you. Like "Elitesystem" said, if you really like the site and you work it right any of them will bring results. Sometimes that is the best plan rather than running to the next new thing, just work what is working and stick to your guns.

Stay away from squidoo, and get your own domain

It takes work and patience, something most people don't have. I still have a lot of successful Squidoo lenses ranking for competitive 2-word keyword terms. I also have some that barely get any visits, but those are almost always the ones I put little effort into. One of the biggest issues you can run into on Squidoo is to create a lens on an exact topic that another webmaster has already done. When this happens, Google tends to favor the first one over yours in SE results (because both are on the same domain name).

A few of my pages get almost 1000 visits per week - but, I get hardly no money at all. ($35.00 since July)

I found a site and I started building pages for them and I make more in one day than I made in 9 months at Squid:mad::mad:

Anything I have done on squidoo is done. Not even a good link anymore.

I just got squidoo. I don't think it could hurt, I just won't focus on it as my main source to submit info.

Yep, Hubpages is a pain but I have found it outranking everything else lately. Just take it easy with the links. Maybe even start with no links, give it a week or two and then add a couple of links. Also, RSS feeds give you a do follow link.

I think that Hubpages has more power with google than Squidoo.
