Domain transfer from ENOM to namecheap

I have existing domain registered through ENOM ( old registrar name) by my web hosting provider (A). I plan to switch to new web hosting provider (B).

Which one is better option if I intend to sell my website in future (probably next year)? What are the pros and cons for 1 or 2 or 3:
    1) retain domain registration with A, but host my website with B
    2) move both domain registration and web hosting to B
    3) transfer domain registration to namecheap.com, but host my website with B.

Another puzzle is : which one is higher in domain registration hierarchy : ENOM or namecheap.com? If namecheap.com is just ENOM's reseller, then it is meaningless to transfer from ENOM to namecheap.com, right?

another question: currently the status from ENOM: clientTransferProhibited. If I need to unlock it and allow domain transfer, should I contact ENOM or my existing web hosting provider (A)?

    Thanks,

I would recommend to leave it with enom and host your website with another hosting provider. Don't combine hosting with domain name registrar. Best of LuCk!!

if u able to transfer to namecheap then better to trannsfer. because u will get cheap renewal of 1 year :D

best to avoid both domain / hosting accounts in same registrar

namecheap.com used to be a reseller for enom, but now they have gained their own registrar status and on their own now. You will need to obtain EPP code from your webhost and input the EPP code on namecheap transfer status screen.

As others had said, keep your domain separated from webhost, it will save you lots of troubles in future.

FYI – NameCheap is an ICANN Accredited registrar on paper but they are not operational yet and therefor, they are still a reseller of eNom.

$25 is a lot for renewal of a domain, you could try to transfer it to other registrar like say, www.answerable.com etc.
